Thank you for choosing Cabela’s reticle riflescope. The reticle is designed to compensate for the trajectory of
your ammunition. Regardless of the particular style of reticle you have, the position of the circles are based
upon an average trajectory for some of the more popular projectiles and cartridges on the market.
It is imperative that the reticle be level in relation to your firearm. If the reticle is tilted, even a few degrees, it can
cause the projectile to drift off the centerline of the point of aim. There are many commercial leveling devices on
the market that align the reticle accordingly.
At Cabela’s, you get detailed, accurate information that’s hard to find anywhere else. Our in house Product
Research Team opens the box, verifies the contents, checks the owner’s manual, and records dimensions,
features and specifications. Living the Outdoor Lifestyle is in our nature. We use what we sell and we are
always adding recommendations along with additional “tips and tricks” to using our products.
All Cabela’s reticles were originally designed to be used on the highest magnification. Since changing the
magnification changes the position of the circles in relation to the target, the distances listed along with each
of the illustrations are at the highest magnification. The center crosshair does not change with magnification as it
is placed in the optical center of the scope.

NOTE: If you plan on making long-distance precision shots, especially on small targets, then you should check
your sight zero each time you change your ammunition.

your local range to see how the ammunition correlates.

Cabela’s BDC Reticle Guide
Reticle Focusing
Your Cabela’s riflescope is equipped with an adjustable eyepiece to get a clear and sharp reticle image. To focus
the reticle, begin by allowing your eyes to focus on a distant object for several moments — not looking through
the scope. Then, hold the scope up and quickly look through it. It is important to look at the reticle and not the
object you were looking at. Pay attention to the sharpness of the reticle, and adjust the focus ring until it is as
sharp as possible. The reticle image should be crisp and sharp immediately when you look. Since your eyesight
may change over time, periodically re-check this adjustment.

Final Range Sight In
Final sight in should be done at the range using the exact ammunition you expect to hunt or shoot with.
A. Fire a shot or two to check that you’re roughly on target. If necessary, adjust the reticle to put you near the
center of the target.
B. Next, fire a three-shot group as precisely as possible. Using the center of this group as a reference, make any
necessary correction adjustments for windage and elevation.
C. Fire a three-shot group to confirm your adjustment. Repeat until you achieve satisfactory results.
