Bürkert Positioners & Process Controllers
Using digital technology, Bürkert’s positioners & process
controllers have pushed through the barriers of traditional
solutions. These positioners are available for linear as well
as quarter turn valves (and other pneumatic devices).
The new range of digital positioners 8791, 8792 & 8793
combine performance, features and a rugged IP65/67
enclosure for field deployment:
- Direct mount interfaces for linear & quarter turn valves
- Remote mount, where valves are in difficult to reach or see
locations (positioner typically wall or cabinet mounted)
The 8791 & 8792 positioners, plus 8793 process controller
are exceptionally rugged and deliver long life service life.
The units share a range of smart features:
n Integrated pilot valve system using filtered recycled
air; no contamination
n Low air usage; no air use at rest position
n One unit for spring return & double acting actuators
n Control up to 150 litres per minute (95…150lN/min)
n Direct mount & remote versions
- Retrofit to other control valves (eg yoke mounted)
n Suitable for all valve sizes; one positioner type for site
- Other pneumatic devices; cylinders, dampers, etc
n One minute, push-button commissioning
Completing the digital positioner package is the 2-wire Type
8635 positioner, with optional process controller for control
loops or DCS. The Type 8635 is approved for hazardous
location deployment and rugged for the most challenging
conditions.
n High quality materials used throughout, compact body
n Network communication interfaces (optional)
n IP65/67 protection & coated aluminium casing for field
deployment in demanding environments

combined with all commercially available valve types, such as butterfly valves, ball valves and single and
double-seat valves. Making it to a universal standard solution for the automation of complete hygienic
process installations. Since the control head is very easy to clean, features time-tested IP protection and
is made of chemical-resistant materials, it is ideal for use in these applications. Within the framework
of decentral automation concepts the 8681 performs all pneumatic actuation, feedback and diagnostic
functions, as well as bus communication. By programmable diagnostic functions specific service functions
may be defined and controlled via the control head.
