PRESS KIT - JANUARY 2016
Goodbye 2015 … Here’s to 2016 and its many projects!
The beginning of this season has been distinguished by many new offerings at the Autumn boat shows.
Three special editions were exhibited throughout Europe: the 380 Infinity, 560 Imagine and 620 eSSense.
The new SporTop range, with the 450 S and 52 S, has now got off to a good start. After being exhibited at
the boat shows, these two models have been test-sailed by the press and have well and truly joined the
Lagoon range, which offers more and more choices (FlyBridge, SporTop, Motor Yachts).
Contributing wholeheartedly to this expansion, the new 42 is exhibited for her world premiere at Boot
Düsseldorf. She will then continue its tour with Miami and La Grande Motte.
Lastly, the construction of the SEVENTY 7, better known until now by her codename 7MA, is continuing in
our shipyard.
You will have more information on this boat and follow her building on www.seventy7.fr.
Regarding her motor yacht counterpart, the SEVENTY 8, you will be able to discover her soon on
www.seventy7.fr.
A dedicated press kit is available on demand: [email protected]
So 2016 begins as 2015 ends, with a fair wind, and Düsseldorf will be the place to be for the coming days!
LAGOON
SporTop / FlyBridge : the choice for Lagoons 450 and 52
The 450 and 52 are two of the best-sellers in the Lagoon range, and are equipped with a flybridge like all the catamarans over 45’ in the range...until now
An increasing number of amateur yachtsmen want to sail on large catamarans, often with only a small crew. Some of them do not consider the flybridge to be
the ideal solution, and we have designed the 450 S and 52 S especially with them in mind: with a safer and more conventional helm station, they provide direct
communication between the crew and the cockpit. The lowered rig reduces pitching and makes access to the boom easier whilst retaining the same sail surface.
As for the interiors, Lagoon asked Nauta Design to focus even more on ergonomics, comfort and space.

380 Infinity : a limited edition for an outstanding Lagoon
So much more than just a best-seller, the 380 (with closed to 800 units built) has everything
you need for both coastal and blue water cruising. And so this autumn, to celebrate the 16th
anniversary of this exceptional catamaran, we have launched the «Infinity» limited edition:
decorated hulls and specially-designed upholstery, as well as a wealth of original and essential
on-board equipment, such as bath towels and additional «cushion» seats ... not to mention the
indispensable Lagoon paddle board!

eSSense ... the core of our know-how
Lagoon has developed a new version of the 620 in response to our customers’ desire for even
more luxury. Our know-how and Nauta’s expertise have come together to produce the Lagoon
620 eSSense.
With leather accents on the doors, handles, furniture and saloon chairs, carefully selected
fabric covering the bed bases and headboards and sophisticated, soft and elegant materials,
this new version reveals the true soul of the 620.

42 ... World premiere at Boot Düsseldorf 2016
As announced, the replacement of the very respectable
421 will be making its appearance at international shows
(Düsseldorf, Miami, the Salon du Multicoque in La Grande
Motte...).
Although its lines are smoother, the new 42 is definitely
a member of Lagoon’s “new family»: straight bows, as if
levitated deckhouse, re-centred mast, high and narrow
mainsail, self-tacking jib and large foretriangle for a greater
choice of foresails...
Externally you will find the curves of a beautiful boat and
all of the Lagoon features (vertical glazing, cockpit and
saloon on one level, integrated deck covers...), but also real
innovations in terms of comfort and safety.
The interior layout certainly does justice to the 42’s
predecessor, with 4 double cabins... and what cabins they
are! En-suite bathrooms, double beds with lateral access,
«Lagoon» lighting and ventilation...
A whole world of difference compared to the other 42’
catamarans. An exclusivity to discover at Düsseldorf!

The largest Lagoon is currently under construction, with her
first appearance scheduled for Autumn 2016.
While waiting to find out it on about www.lagoon-seventy.fr,
here are the first statements from those who were involved
in her birth:
«This grand Lagoon, the flagship, clearly has the soul of the

15 patients already treated in Morocco
Elena and Wojtek are crewmates in life and on board the Lagoon 410 Imagine.
They arrived in Marocco in September 2015 where they met the patients who were waiting for them. “On this first stopover,
we’ve manufactured and fitted prosthetics for 13 patients: 2 children, 2 women and 9 men between 17 and 40 years of
age.”
Elena and Wojtek have offered these people, marginalised by their disability, the immense joy of walking again. It also
offers them the promise of easier integration into daily life.

And great performance!
For many years, Lagoon has been a partner of the famous transatlantic ARC, organised by the World Cruising Club in
November each year. This race makes crossings possible within a very reliable organisational framework, which for many is
reassuring.
On 18 November, the participants in the ARC+ left Cape Verde for the 2nd leg of the ARC+, which will take them to Saint
Lucia.
On 22 November at 12:30 hours, the starting gun was fired for the 21 boats competing in the Multihull Division of the ARC,
leaving from Las Palmas. They would meet up again with the ARC+ crews in Saint Lucia some time later.
The ARC+ podium merits a big “Well done!” with a Scandinavian accent for the 380 Havhunden and the 400 Vaares, which
finished 1st and 2nd respectively on corrected time. These 2 Lagoon catamarans are in fact Danish and Norwegian!
As for the traditional ARC, among the first 10 finishers it features 6 Lagoon catamarans, including an American Lagoon 39
that came 4th on corrected time!
Our congratulations to all the crews of our catamarans, and we look forward to seeing as many of them again next year!

As for the interiors, Lagoon asked Nauta to focus even more on ergonomics, comfort and space.

A real success story - with more than 500 boats built since autumn 2010 - the 450 benefits from major
advances in terms of safety, performance and quality of life on board: transoms with improved protection,
a larger cockpit and easier access to the helm station...not to mention a superb sunbathing area on the
flybridge. The new interior layout designed by Nauta for the 450 S – which combines space, style and
comfort - can obviously also be found in the FlyBridge version of the 450.

The 52 F marks a new phase in the design of cruising catamarans. It has diamond-shaped vertical bows,
bevelled hulls, a ‘suspended’ deckhouse and streamlined rigging, but its originality does not stop at its
outward appearance or even its internal layout. The sometimes radical choices that we made in designing
this boat reflect our desire to remain faithful to what we believe in, whether in terms of style, comfort, safety,
user-friendliness or – it goes without saying – performance under sail.

The 560 gave Lagoon a strong lead in terms of comfort, ergonomics and style. The 2014 version offers an
additional choice of layouts which are unequalled for this size of catamaran: up to 5 fully independent
cabins and the choice between a central galley (in the salon) and a lateral galley (in the port hull).
The 560 offers a spectacular salon, whatever the chosen layout.
The choice of materials has been given particular attention, with a teak or oak finish (option) and several
inside atmospheres created by Nauta.

Lagoon Custom: bespoke catamarans from CNB
CNB has been building Lagoon catamarans of over 50 feet since 1999. It therefore seemed logical for Lagoon, a
world leader in building cruising catamarans, and CNB to join forces and develop a new generation of catamarans
for their respective clients – bigger, better, more “CNB” superyachts...
With expertise in both aluminium and high-tech composite, CNB is one of only a handful of manufacturers that
allows its clients to choose the material best suited to their sailing plan.
The biggest names in naval architecture have joined forces with Lagoon and CNB to design these sail or motordriven super-catamarans, including Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost, Philippe Brand, Bill Dixon and
Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design.
Several projects drawn up for Lagoon Custom have attracted potential clients, with discussions on specifications
and costs are available on request.

Lagoon: over 30 years of solid experience, serving the future
Lagoon has been making cruising catamarans since 1984.
Over the years, Lagoon has developed true expertise in building catamarans: an optimal use of space for
exceptional comfort, design, high-quality construction and responsiveness to our customers’ needs are the
main principles underpinning our approach and have helped establish the brand’s reputation.
The world leader in this field since 2003 (with over 3,600 boats built to date), the hulls of all boats in the
Lagoon range are designed by Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prévost (VPLP), naval architects whose
achievements in designing multihull boats are without equal.
Lagoon offers the most comprehensive range of sailing catamaran cruisers on the market, with each of the
models available in several versions. This range is sold by a network of more than 80 specialised and passionate
distributors worldwide. The network is expanding year on year, and Lagoon has a strong presence in emerging
markets such as South America and China.
