Course Description:
Magnolia Creek is a 27-hole links course built with large mounding, expansive fairways and greens
complexes, 138 bunkers as well as a 14-acre practice facility. We have Tifway-419 wall to wall with
Tifeagle greens. Our irrigation system is controlled by Rainbird Cirrus central control.
Position Details:

First Assistant Superintendent- Golfcrest Country Club
The golf course has 18 holes, Mini-Verde greens and a combination of
common Bermuda, 419, Celebration and Zoysia tees, fairways and rough. The
irrigation system has Toro Site Pro central control, Toro Osmac satellites and
Rain Bird and Hunter heads. The course has been home to professional golf
events and local amateur qualifiers, most recently Hooters Tour and Adams
Tour events.
The job responsibilities include assisting in the direction of all
maintenance
activities,
personnel
management
and
evaluation,
fertilizer/pesticide applications and their record keeping, irrigation repair and
assisting with the purchasing and budget. Requires the ability to schedule and
supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of
manpower and equipment. The ability to effectively communicate and lead a
crew is a must for this position.
A degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field is preferred but not
required given an adequate amount of work experience in a comparable
environment. The candidate should have a minimum of three years golf course
experience and possess a Texas pesticide license or obtain one within 90 days.
The candidate should also be self-motivated, detail oriented, possess a strong
work-ethic and possess basic knowledge of operation for all turf equipment for
this hands-on position.
The salary is 32-36 K based on experience, and offers health, life, vision
and dental, uniforms and dues paid for local and national associations. The
club is managed by Sterling Golf, and with their ever increasing portfolio of
courses, there will be opportunities for advancement within the company for
motivated individuals. The last two Superintendent positions that opened up

The 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Traditions Club is entrusted to help and assist
the Golf Course Superintendent with the golf course maintenance, operations, and management
of 18 championship holes designed by Jack Nickalaus to a very high and consistent standard for
the Traditions’ Club Members!
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent are to assist in
recruiting, developing, leading, and training all golf course maintenance personnel with the goal
to execute the agronomic plan and budget. You will work closely with the GCS to build and
implement the annual agronomy plan and budget as well as capital improvement projects. You
will be responsible in assisting oversight of all maintenance programs for the facility to include
golf course maintenance, irrigation system, The Texas A&M Golf Complex, Pool and Grill
landscape, proshop landscape, ponds, creeks, turf, native grass areas, and maintenance shop. You
will be accountable for the organization and upkeep of accurate records regarding all
maintenance programs, pesticide applications and inventory, irrigation and fertigation, payroll,
operating expenses, and weather conditions. You are to work closely with the Traditions golf
staff to enhance the golf experience of the current membership as well as to attract new
Traditions Club Members!

energetic hard working Assistant Superintendent. This position
will oversee the day to day scheduling and operations of the
maintenance team. He or she would also be responsible in
assisting with chemical/fertilizer application, Irrigation repair

Duties: Under general direction selects, trains and monitors employees engaged in the maintenance and construction
of the golf course, athletic fields and other facilities. This position determines, organizes and implements agronomic
management programs and manages renovation, construction and new projects throughout the golf division.
Requirements: The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated by and Associate's Degree in

care of golf facilities, buildings, roadways, walkways, athletic fields, and other facilities.
2. Ability to determine, organize and implement landscape management programs related to turf grasses, trees and
shrubs, color beds, ground covers, and irrigation systems including disease diagnosis, chemical treatments, nutrient
analysis and recommendations, water requirements and maintaining schedules and records of all activities.
3. Ability to develop specifications and performance parameters for the purchase of park maintenance equipment and
selection of vendors and contractors; ability to implement and manage renovation, construction and new projects
which includes tracking repairs, remodeling and the addition of park amenities; and, ability to determine irrigation
system needs, including design, installation, operation and repair.
4. Ability to select, hire, train and evaluate subordinates, set work standards, monitor work in progress and inspect
work upon completion.

limited to data entry for project history and cost, maintenance tasks/labor, pesticide micros and fertilizer application

maintenance and operation of the golf course as well as all communication with management and related
departments.

Supervise, train and inspect golf course maintenance staff in performing complex cultural tasks including
fertilization, pesticide applications, mowing, aerifying, topdressing, irrigation repairs and irrigation computer
