Elding Whale Watching
Whales are perhaps the most
mysterious and fascinating of
all creatures. Some of the best
whale watching in the world
is off the shores of Iceland,
where ocean currents create
excellent viewing conditions.
With decades of experience, Elding offers the most talked about
whale watching tours in Iceland. Daily whale watching tours are
offered all year round and they are conveniently located in the
southern part of Faxafloi Bay,
just off Reykjavik’s old harbor.

Iceland from Below
Available throughout the year,
this tour takes you to unique
sights of Iceland's most spectacular lava tube caves and
craters. We will enter through
narrow cave entrances and
find they reveal extraordinary
scenery of colours and lava
formations. These beautiful,
natural phenomena were created when the surface lava hardened
and the fluid lava continued to flow in tubes underneath. You will
also see natural stalactites and many different rock formations
making this nearly an indescribable experience. The caves become
wide and high and in many places the floor is quite even. Respect
for nature and safety are our main concerns. There are no handrails, lights or any pre-installed tools in or around the caves. We
rely completely on the equipment we carry and
that people respect our guidelines.

Sea Angling
Our sea angling tour is a must-do
for first-timers and experienced
fishermen alike. Just breathing in
the fresh air, being out on the open
ocean and catching the first fish of
the day make this an experience
never forgotten. We go to the fishing grounds in Faxaflói, which have
attracted Icelandic fishermen for
centuries.
On our tours experienced captains take guests to the best fishing grounds
the bay offers and offer interesting guidance and commentary. The most
commonly caught fish is catfish, cod, haddock, mackerel and pollock. At
the end of the tour, the crew barbecues the catch on board for those who
want, fresh and without any fuss. Or you can take your catch home or to
the Elding Bistro to enjoy a fully
cooked meal.
