Cairn 1968 - College of St. Joseph
Foreword
A candle flickers; a rocky path curves
endlessly; a tool, pounding and shaping, molds
an eternal creation; a horizon, bright and
luminous, awaits the unrelenting seeker. Can
dle, path, tool, and horizon, each represent
a phase of achievement at the College of
Saint Joseph The Provider.
The Freshman
lights the candle of maturation and self
identity.
A road of. trials,. hardships, and joy
besets the Sophomore.
The Junior attains
an insight into reality with the tool of knowl
edge.
A sensitive and responsive horizon
awaits the Senior, standing on the threshold
of a new beginning.
The doors of the past four years close
silently and solemnly upon the Class of 1968:
the candle dwindles.
The love, dedication,
and sacrifice of family and faculty kindle a
new flame,
the introduction to a bright
~'
future.
A horizon and an ideal is realized, as we
the Class of 1968 present the first edition of
CAIRN.

Dedication The Class of 1968 wishes to dedicate CAIRN, the first yearbook of the College
of Saint Joseph the Provider, to Sister Mary Matthew, President Emeritus and founder
of our COllege. The class would like to express personal gratitude to her for being
an understanding interested lead er, who gave each and everyone of us a special
insight into what the words teacher and womanhood mean .
Our President SISTER M. IMELDA , S.SJ.
Congr atulations to each member of the Class of 1968. The spirit of unity and
good will which has characterized your class from the beginning has helped you to
achieve personally and to accomplish many worthwhile projects for your school.
Our prayers and continued interest will follow you as you enter with courage
the new life of the classroom teacher. May the dedication and loyalty you have
evidenced as members of our College Community enable you to help others in
the "classroom of life" to move confidently toward the great tomorrow of eternity.
