I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not
enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide
by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the
run. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including but not
limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the condition of the road, as such
risks known and appreciated by me. Having read this wavier and knowing
these facts and in consideration of Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, the
City of Beatrice, all sponsors, their representatives and successors from claims
or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event though that
liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons
named in this waiver. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all of
the foregoing to use photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, and recording
of my child, or any record of this event, for any legitimate purpose. I agree that
an adult may accompany my child during the run.

(Turn east on Grable Ave. just south of the Big Blue River bridge on
S. 6th St. (Hwy. 77) in Beatrice to enter Chautauqua Park.)
Please join us for the 2016 Homestead Days® runs in picturesque Chautauqua Park. All runs will start and finish near the
historic tabernacle in the park.
The 10K Race
An out-and-back course that will be run on the scenic Homestead Running Trail which will take runners along the tree-lined
banks of the Big Blue River and through both Chautauqua and
Riverside Parks in Beatrice. This is one of the most scenic
segments of the Homestead Running Trail!
The 5K Race
An out-and-back course on the Homestead Running Trail and
will take runners through Chautauqua Park and past Veterans
Memorial Park before the turn-around point along the banks of
the Big Blue River.
Awards & Post-Race Refreshments:
Fruit and cookies will be available under the tabernacle for participants at the conclusion of their race. The awards ceremony will be
held there as well, as soon as the results have been tabulated for the
races.
5K/10K Races
CHIP Timing:
All participants in the 5K/10K events will have chip timing!
Each race will have men’s and women’s divisions, and plaques will
be awarded to the first overall male and female runners in both the
10K/5K races. Medals will be awarded to the top three men and
women in each of the following age groups in both races:
12 and under
30-39
60-69
13-19
40-49
70 and over
20-29
50-59
Race Start & Other Information:
1 Mile Fun Run start time: 7:15 AM
5K/10K start time: 7:30 AM
Race day registration will take place at the Tabernacle from
6:30 AM to race time. Course maps for all races will be available at the registration tables.
Race numbers will be issued to all participants of the 10K/5K
upon registration and each participant will need to wear his/her
number on the FRONT of their clothing, so that it is visible to
race officials at the finish line. This will ensure that your time is
recorded and considered for age group awards. Water will be
provided for all on the course and at the finish line.

By entering this event, I hereby for myself, my heirs and executors, waive and
release any and all rights and claims for damage against the Beatrice Area
Chamber of Commerce, Complete Timing, City of Beatrice and all race officials, volunteers, and sponsors for any injuries suffered by me in connection
with this event. I further certify that I am in good enough physical condition to
participate in this event. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all of
the foregoing to use photographs, video tapes, motion pictures, and recording
of myself and my child, or any record of this event, for any legitimate purpose.
The 1 Mile Fun Run
Open to all ages. Prizes will be awarded to kids 12 and younger. The course is approximately 2.5 laps around the loop road
south of the tabernacle, providing plenty of opportunities for
spectators to cheer them on. Runners 6 & under can be accompanied by an adult.
Early Registration Packet Pick-Up:
Runners who have pre-registered are eligible to pick up their
race day packets on Thursday, June 16 from 5-8 PM at the
Carnegie Building, 218 N 5th Street, Beatrice, NE, 68310.
