be constructed according to Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA) standards. As this facility was
one of the anchor points of the project, it would have to be constructed without error.
As the pools would be utilized daily for the swimming program, the waterproofing solution would
have to effectively resist chlorine, constant hydrostatic pressure and heavy usage. Several concrete
waterproofing options were presented to the consultants for selection. The consultants were looking for

Over 1,100 cubic meters (38,800 cubic feet) of concrete was treated with KIM, which was used to
construct the swimming pool, diving pool and deck areas. The pool is now permanently waterproof.
The design Ir Edmund Wong said that Kryton’s KIM product really performs how it is stipulated in the
Technical Data Sheet. After he inspected the structure externally and checked for water infiltration
during the ponding test, the pools were found to be perfectly dry and watertight. By using Kryton’s
waterproofing products, the pools will serve the students and their rigorous swim program without
delays or inconveniences caused by repair work.
