the vicinity features restaurants where you can taste the typical cuisine of the region.
The Picos de Europa and the rest of the mountains that accidents Liébana are an extraordinary setting for mountain
sports in all its varieties. From sea level to 2,600 meters, there are peaks in the region of difficulty and a variety of
altitudes, and climbers have many avenues open.
Those who prefer quiet routes have a network of marked trails, Great and Little River (GR and PR) that reveal the
different valleys walking Liébana. In winter and spring you can also go skiing on the mountain peaks surrounding
the area.
The mountain bike is ideal terrain on roads and tracks of the valleys, relief softer than the peaks.
Another great way to meet Liébana are guided tours on horseback, to ride quietly for the most beautiful. Caving
also has enormous potential in the karst of the Picos de Europa, one of the highlights of the world, with depths
exceeding five thousand feet deep.
As for water sports, several companies offer canyoning in some of the ravines of the region, and canoeing can be
practiced in the lower river Deva. Among the outstanding air activities paragliding, with a boom, with companies
offering specialized training courses and tandem flights with an instructor.
