offer of the northernmost area
of Poland, part of the province of
Pomerania.
Its biggest centre is Gdynia, the city which – together with over a dozen of neighbouring
localities – sees a partnership and joint promotion as a chance for enhancing its potential
by way of obtaining the effect of synergy.
The localities have a lot in common: a tradition of many years’ extensive co-operation,
their seaside location, and their obvious communicational ties. First of all however they
have a common target – a harmonized, sustainable development based on the local
resources, well-educated and innovative manpower, as well as advanced technologies.
The projects to be jointly implemented by NORDA are as follows:
– a strategically important investment: the Tri-City Agglomeration North Ring Road;
– integrated municipal services (especially including the waste management, power
supply and communication);
– an integrated development policy – mainly through the functional Sub-Regional Zone
– the ‘Logistic Valley’, Małe Trójmiasto Kaszubskie /The Small Kashubian Tri-City/,
a joint promotion of the group’s economy;

Situated in the area of the Pobrzeże Kaszubskie /Kashubian Coast/ in the northern part
of the Pomorskie Voivodeship /Pomerania Province/, the sole municipality in the poviat /

The Main Investments
in the field of logistics are located in Port Zachodni /
Western Port/, next to two container terminals – BCT (Baltic Container Terminal) and GCT
(Gdynia Container Terminal). The unique location also arises from the closeness of the airport

another high-storage warehouse on the grounds adjoining the Western Port for lease
purposes. Depending on the needs of the partners, Port of Gdynia Authority SA may prepare

The rural municipality of Luzino lies in the
northern part of the Pomorskie Voivodeship
/Pomerania Province/ on an area of 112 km2 which represents about
0.6 % of the voivodeship’s area, it has 11,174 inhabitants. The location of the municipality in
the middle of a preserved landscape and landscape parks constituting ecological stripes,
as well as its close distance to the Tri-City (55 km), its affiliation to the metropolitan area
of Gdansk, its ever increasing offer of various services (ones relating to trade, carpentry,
construction and installation works, road building, etc) and production (window frames,
paving cubes, furniture, concrete), all this combined with the agro-tourism offer of the local
farms translates into the economic and tourist attractiveness of the municipality.
Luzino is the biggest village in the voivodeship (of a small-town character) and ranks among
Poland’s biggest villages in respect of its population. The village has 7148 inhabitants. It lies
in Kashubia, at Bolszewka River and the Gdańsk-Słupsk-Stargard Szczeciński railway line
with Luzino station, in the vicinity of the international route E-28 (Poland’s major road No. 6)

Rumia is an urban municipality, part of the
Wejherowo Poviat /District/. On the south, the town borders with
Gdynia, on the north Reda, and the rural municipality of Kosakowo on the east. Throughout
the town there run the Gdansk-Szczecin railway trunk line and – parallel to the railway line
– the No. 6 primary road. Rumia is well communicated with the rest of Tri-City: the Fast

Gdynia changes
Conception
In the oncoming years, the traditionally modern, dynamic Gdynia will become an arena of
great metamorphoses the scale of which may be compared to the building of the city and
its port in the 20s and 30s of the previous century. The major changes will be connected
with the revitalisation of the huge postindustrial space – the port areas formerly used by
shipyards, fish processing and fishing companies. They rank among the most attractive
grounds in Poland – in the very heart of the city, surrounded by the sea on their three sides.
In an area that was once dominated by the industry, there will soon be created Gdynia’s
new downtown with restaurants, hotels, service and office buildings, apartment houses, as
well as interesting public space – broad boulevards along the quays, marinas, or the edifice
of the prospective Museum of Sailing. But it is not all. At the same time the city centre will
be the place of spectacular investments like the erection of the Forum of Culture (it will
consist of three buildings of a cultural function – Dramatic Theatre, Modern Art Gallery and
Mediateque) or the extension of the Music Theatre, whereas the highest apartment house
in Poland – the Sea Towers will be given superb neighbours, i.e. the new headquarters of
Nordea Bank Polska and a luxury Marriott hotel. Projects of a similar significance will also
be implemented in other neighbourhoods of Gdynia: the extension of the Pomeranian
Science and Technology Park, adaptation of Gdynia-Kosakowo airport to the needs of civil
communication or Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway.
The centre of information on all the aforementioned and other noteworthy citygenic projects
in Gdynia will be located in an object named GDYNIA INFOBOX. In Polish conditions, it
represents an unprecedented undertaking, a kind of a observatory of changes replanting
the world’s trends onto Polish soil – attractive because of the modern architectural solutions
and the unconventional approach.
