What a promise that those who have gone on before shall rise, be resurrected, just as Jesus arose on that first Easter Sunday morning nearly two thousand years ago. So on that day the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible (1 Cor.15:52). “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds”(1Thess 4:17a). Together the saved dead and the saved living shall be changed (1Cor 15:52b). “For this corruptible must put on incorruptible and the mortal must put on immortality (1Cor 15:53). In short we will be like Jesus. The believer will have a body like unto our risen Lord’s body with all the same qualities and characteristics He has. Thank God! For the resurrection of Jesus Christ and because He got up you and I as believers in Jesus Christ shall get up also. “ For He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come see the place where the Lord lay” (Matt 28:6). “Happy Resurrection Day” G re ate r I n s p i rati o n s Greater Missionary Baptist church Pastor Willie J. Furthermore, our mission is to live out our faith each day of our lives, through working, witnessing, walking and worshipping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Furthermore, our mission is to live spirit-filled and righteous lives so that the world may see our good work and glorify our God. Furthermore, our mission is to become faithful stewards of our time, talent, treasures and testimonies for the glory of God. How Do I Become A Christian? Have you ever wondered what you must do to become a Christian or what you must do to be saved? The Bible has an answer that is easy to understand. FIRST, you must understand that you need to be saved. The Bible says you need to be saved because you are a sinner. Your sin has a penalty. You cannot save yourself. The Bible says, “all have sinned” and the “wages of sin is death”. (Romans 3:23; 6:23) SECOND, you must understand that you can be saved. You can be saved because Jesus died on the cross for your sins. The Bible says, “God demonstrated His love of us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) THIRD, you must know what you need to do to be saved. The Bible explains how you can be saved. Acts 3:19 says we must repent and turn from our sins. But repentance alone is not enough. Ephesians 2:8 says that we must place our faith in Jesus Christ to be saved. NOW, you must want to be saved. God is waiting for you to “want to “ and then ask Him to save you. The Bible says, “that if you call upon the name of the Lord you shall be saved”. (Romans 10:13) If you are ready to trust Christ as your Savior and Lord, invite Christ into your heart right now by praying to Him. You may word, your own prayer or use the prayer printed here. The important thing is that the prayer is sincere and personal. “Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know you died for my sins. Right now, I invite You into my heart to be my Savior and Lord. I willingly turn away from my sin and give my life to You. Thank You for saving me, AMEN.” Welcome to God’s Family, you have just made the greatest decision of your life. Tell a Pastor or another Christian friend about your decision as soon as possible. “And let us not become weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 3 April 3rd Good Friday 4th Youth Resurrection Celebration 10:am 5th Resurrection Sunday Service 6:30am 12th A/AB Recognition 10:45am 13th 13th VBS Training Clinic/Hillsdale Bapt. 6pm 18th Steele’s Marrow Drive 11:am-3:pm 26th Women’s Spring Tea (4pm) May 2nd CPR Class 9:am-11:00am 9th Mother’s Day Breakfast (Youth/Men Ministries) 10th Mother’s Day (Children & Youth) 12th Semi Annual Stewardship Meeting 7:00pm 24th Memorial Day Service 30th Senior’s Banquet 4:00pm Chief Care Minister: Rev. Psalms 30:2 Submitted by: Sister Delores Bell 6 Resurrection of Jesus Christ - Story Summary: After Jesus was crucified, Joseph of Arimathea had Christ's body placed in his own tomb. A large stone covered the entrance and soldiers guarded the sealed tomb. On the third day, a Sunday, several women (Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, Joanna and Salome are all mentioned in the gospel accounts) went to the tomb at dawn to anoint the body of Jesus. A violent earthquake took place as an angel from heaven rolled back the stone. The guards shook in fear as the angel, dressed in bright white, sat upon the stone. The angel announced to the women that Jesus who was crucified was no longer in the tomb, "He is risen, just as he said." Then he instructed the women to inspect the tomb and see for themselves. Next he told them to go inform the disciples. With a mixture of fear and joy they ran to obey the angel's command, but suddenly Jesus met them on their way. They fell at his feet and worshiped him. Jesus then said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee. There they will see me." When the guards reported what had happened to the chief priests, they bribed the soldiers with a large sum of money, telling them to lie and say that the disciples had stolen the body in the night. After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to the women near the tomb and later at least twice to the disciples while they were gathered at a house in prayer. He visited two of the disciples on the road to Emmaus and he also appeared at the Sea of Galilee while several of the disciples were fishing. Points of Interest from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ Story: • There are at least 12 different appearances of Christ in the resurrection accounts, beginning with Mary and ending with Paul. They were physical, tangible experiences with Christ eating, speaking and allowing himself to be touched. • Jesus' resurrected body was different from his physical body. It was no longer subject to the same laws of nature. He could transcend locked doors, and yet he could still be touched and he could eat. • Before Jesus ascended into heaven he gave the Great Commission, telling his followers to go and make disciples of all nations. • The stone was not rolled away from the tomb so Jesus could get out. He was able to walk through walls (John 20:19) in his resurrected body. The stone was rolled away so that everyone could see that he was risen. Question for Reflection About the Resurrection of Jesus Christ:: When Jesus appeared to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, they didn't recognize him (Luke 24:13-33). They even talked in great length about Jesus, but they didn't know they were in his very presence. Has Jesus, the resurrected Savior visited you, but you didn't recognize him? 7 8 AP R IL 201 5 Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu 1 2 Nursing Home Ministry 9am/ Bible Study and Prayer Meeting 6:30pm/ Fitness and Nutrition 5:30pm/ PR Ministry 6:30pm/ Fri 3 Sat 4 Intercessory Prayer 6:am/Trustees 8:00am/ Usher Ministry 9:am/ Praise Worship 9:30am / Inspirational Choir Rehearsal 10:30am 5 6 7 8 9 10 CRSKMT Baptist District Association Pastors’ Conf.
