Happy New Year!
W
e had the
best New Year’s
celebration ever
this past Saturday
on February 4th.
I know I say that
every year, but
honestly it gets
better all the
time. This year’s
the Gwan wants to either marry this guy or fix
him up with their daughters!

Sifu Mike, from North Carolina, worked on the

celebration was particularly special for a
number of reasons. First, we were honored
to have Fa Shr Guolin attend the promotion
ceremony. To receive your promotion or
recognition certificate from a Shaolin Temple
monk is, well, it doesn’t get much better than
that! Second, we had such great participation from so many of the ACCS schools, and
from North Carolina in particular who traveled
so far to join with us for the celebration.
Third, to be able to welcome eight new
teacher levels into the family was just aweinspiring.
A special thanks to Deb DeMaria who offered
help with the Pinata Frenzy!
Willie VanSise, and Mike Rivera entertained
everyone with an awesome Lion Dance
accompanied by Jim DeMaria, Phil Tambakis
and Rob Fletcher. Prasad jumped in and
played the wayward monk adding even more
to the whole production.
Carol Davis arranged fruit baskets and gifts
for the Masters table and who could forget her
toast to Grandmaster?
Aside from all the fun we had, planning the
party brought out the best in people and as
always Jennifer Cronk did an amazing job of
planning and coordinating the entire event.
She is everywhere at once overseeing every
detail and still manages to look gorgeous.
Peter Goericke and Sheila Corrado worked
through the evening on the welcome table and
settling the Party's books. That takes
extraordinary patience, and organization to
pull that off.
