Mesoamerican Herpetology
Iván T. Ahumada-Carrillo graduated with a degree in Biology from the
University of Guadalajara (CUCBA). Currently, he is working independently
on the herpetofauna of western Mexico, primarily in the Wixarica region.
Ivan has a passion for nature photography, and has received several awards
for his images. The cover photograph depicts a male Sceloporus minor,
photographed in a rock formation within a pasture in the Municipio de San
Agustín Metzquititlán, in the state of Hidalgo, at an elevation of 1,920 m.
This species is endemic to Mexico, and has been recorded from the states of
Aguascalientes, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, Nuevo
León, Querétaro, and Zacatecas.
