May/June 2012 NEWSLETTER
W
e are occasionally asked about our qualifications for ministering to the youth and what education we have pursued to do so. Both of us have college degrees to be sure: Kate’s in Sociology/
Anthropology and Bob’s in Ministry. Hardly educational qualifiers for dealing with At-Risk boys!
This fact could be a cause for a sense of inadequacy but we are reminded of 2 Corinthians 8:12
“For if the eager willingness to give is there, then it is acceptable and welcomed in proportion to
what a person has, not according to what he does not have.” Thank the Lord that He is the qualifier
of those who are willing!
New Arrivals
Our census was up to 7 in the past two months, including 4 new boys! We are presently at 6 and it
has been so exciting being part of young men, not only coming to the Lord, but beginning to take
faith steps in the process of having their lives transformed. Continue to pray for the referrals we
receive almost daily that our discernment would be in tune with Christ’s!
Good Things Happening
Thanks to our grant from Christian Fellowship Foundation, the remodeling of our Independent
Living unit is nearly completed with “odds and ends” and general cleaning remaining. We have
three candidates for IL who will be readied for the move throughout the summer. These boys will
be learning skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, trustworthiness, personal Bible study and
other responsibilities.
We also anticipate the arrival of our new 15 passenger van (again, thank you CFF!) What a great
day that will be as we are presently using two vehicles to go anywhere. Our new beds are in place
also, neatly covered with new bedspreads!
Work and Play
The boys have been diligent along with staff in all
the remodeling, grounds keeping, upkeep of repairs,
painting, chores and clean-up needed to keep the
“farm” going. Our chicks from last spring are excellent producers now of delicious brown eggs! Everyone participated in the dismantling of the old beds
and building the new. It is such a blessing to watch
young men learn and master a new job!

MAY/JUNE NEWSLETTER - PAGE 2
Along with the work, we have been blessed with fun activities as well. We were treated to an Indians boxed seat baseball game by one of the boy’s parents. Also, we attended an Apologetix Christian courtesy of generous friends and a wild game dinner at a church in Warren. These along with
building forts, playing “Hunger Games,” movie nights, backyard football, fishing, Bible studies and
youth groups have bonded these 6 boys in a way that they will not forget.
We are so grateful to all of you for striving with us!! We have been getting blessed not only by seeing boys on the road to wholeness through Jesus Christ, but by how God has been providing for
YWAP! God bless you for your “eager willingness to give!”
In His Service,
Bob & Kate Moore
