GRAND KNIGHT‘S MESSAGE
Brother Knights
April is almost here, and the nice weather
is finally starting to show its face. Now is a very
important time for the Council, with the 56th
Annual Dinner and Dance fast approaching,
Committee Chairman, DGK Ed McGibbon and
his Committee have been working overtime to
make this one of the best ever. Mark the date!!!
April 24th, at Gennaro’s Catering, located on the corner of
66th St. & 13th Ave. Ticket Price is $75.00 pp and includes
Valet Parking, a full Cocktail Hour, a Choice Dinner, Open
Bar, Dancing with a Great DJ plus Desserts and Coffee
and Tea. There will also be some great Raffle Prizes, plus
a 50/50 Raffle.
Please help the Council make this a success by
purchasing a ticket, or an Ad in our Journal. This is the
Councils Major Fund Raiser for the year. Please help
however you can. Check inside the Newsletter for all the
details.
This Columbian Year is fast coming to an end, and
it’s hard to believe how fast the time has passed. Just a
reminder to my Brothers that there will be Nominations for
Council Officers at the May Business Meeting. Any
Brother Knight having aspirations to move into an Officers
Position, can contact me at any time.
Finally, in closing, on behalf of my entire Family, we
would like to thank everyone for all their Prayers, Gifts,
Cards, and Concerns about our Granddaughter Samantha
We Shall Never Forget – 9/11/01

who underwent major spinal surgery on March 7th. She is
now home, and quickly on the mend and ready to start
therapy. God bless all of you for caring. We will never
forget you. Hope everyone has a very Blessed and
Happy Easter.

FOOD PROGRAM:
The food pantry is down once
again. Hunger is always up.
PLEASE, each time you come to
the council, bring an item of nonperishable food. A can of Soup,
a box of Pasta, a can of
Vegetables, a jar of Peanut
Butter and/or Jelly, a box of
Cereal, etc. Every item goes a long way in feeding
families and individuals
who struggle to survive. Bensonhurst Market is next door
and I go in there and always find a sale. A couple of
dollars goes a long was in helping those in need.

FS News:
Intent to Suspend notices have been sent to those who
are in Arrears. Gentlemen, your 2015 Travel Card is no
longer valid. The next step is suspension. Please pay your
dues as soon as possible. The Knights of Columbus is a
strong organization because of its members. Every
member we lose softens our voice. We value your
membership, even if you cannot attend meetings. Paying
your dues keeps you current and, in the future, if you do
decide to get involved once again, there will be
no roadblocks. Also, keeping current, maintains your
continuous service towards Honorary and Honorary Life
membership.

HAPPY EASTER to all. I
hope all had the
opportunity to share this
Easter celebration with
their families. Our
thoughts and prayers go
out to the Toigo Family in
the speedy recovery of
Samantha Toigo. Young
blood always heals
quickly.
In February, the Kings
County along with New
York State Council, sponsored "Swish for Kids" at St.
Ephram Auditorium.
This event benefitted children diagnosed with some form
of cancer. A great turn out from officers and members of
the county. Approximately 45 children and their families
were in attendance. Knights of Columbus Long Island
Assembly Color Corp were present. They presented the
Flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you all for your
support.
We are having a fund raiser for Special Olympics on
Sunday April 3, 2016 at the Barclay Center. Ticket price is
$45 to watch the Brooklyn Nets. Hopefully they will win.
A free shooting shirt is included with this ticket and $10
per ticket will go to the Heart Share Foundation. Please
support us and reach a out a purchase a ticket. A great
afternoon is planned. One PM is game time.
A Kings County Conference meeting is scheduled for
Wed.13, 2016 at Cardinal Stritch Council at 8:00 p.m. All
delegates and alternates MUST attend. This is an Election
night. All are welcome to attend. A collation will follow.
Congratulations to all our newly exemplified members of
the Fourth Degree.

The Columbiettes are asking for donations for their
