TO THE STUDENTS:
The opening of a new school is an exciting adventure. It is like crossing a river,
on the other side of which nothing is absolutely known. Even though we carry with us
knowledge that was developed in our old environment, we soon find that many of our
past habits have to be changed.
Here at POTOMAC, we are fortunate to have a fine building which was designed
to fit in with new ideas in instruction which are being given nation-wide recognition.
As our school grows with the addition of the 11th grade in 1966-67 and the 12th
grade in 1967-68, we hope to attract more teachers with wide experience and scholas
tic background to help with our ever-changing curriculum.
You, the class of 1968, in presenting this yearbook will have the honor that goes
with the creation of new traditions and ideals for which this school stands.
Let us, therefore, promise the people of Prince George's County that their ef
forts in our behalf have not been in vain. And, furthermore, no matter what obstacles
have to be overcome, our main purpose will be to press on to higher achievement, al
ways mindful that if one of us becomes a better person, our community will benefit
and likewise be a better place to live.

You name it, you can have it!

THE BRAVES
Pitting our freshmen and sophomores against the juniors and seniors
of opposing teams, the Braves got off to a slow start. But by mid-season
they had developed into a fine young team. By February the Potomac
five had chalked up 4 victories, indicating that the Braves can look
forward to a bright future in basketball.
