What a great SUMMER we are having!! One more scheduled
Lake Rental down at Havvaski in Olympia, and hopefully we’ll
squeeze in a day at Ski Park in Orting before the season is over.
We’ve had many new members join us this year and participate
in meetings and lake rentals! Thanks to everyone in the club
who has made them feel welcomed, we really do have a great
group of amazing members & sponsors!

Robert Louis Kolstad
Years in club: First joined around 1980. Was Vice President under Rick Stockscan't remember what year that was.
Family Members: Wife Michelle, my son Brad, his wife Stephanie, three grand
kids, Harrison, Madeline, Addison
Type of skiing: Maniac slalom
Type of equipment: First skis were a pair of flat bottom Western Woods which I
learned to slalom deep water start on- took ALL day. Followed by Jobe, EP and
Connelly.
I worked for the factories of Jobe & EP. Current boat 2001 Malibu Response LX.
Practice Site: In that big orb mounted to my shoulders as I dream of one day returning to the one thing I love
above all others.
Future Goal: To get strong enough to make a deep water start and run a full pass at any speed- without hurting anything. Best pass as a young man- 2@ 28 off, 36 MPH. Boy did that feel good!
Other Hobbies besides Skiing. Off road adventures in the "Tank", traveling in POG mobile (motor home),
refurbishing tournament boats, photography and drumming.
Favorite Movie: I typically forget the movies I watch a few weeks later, (which allows me to watch them again
for the first time over & over again) but I really enjoy well done mysteries like "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo".
Favorite Book: I've learned a lot about bands and music by reading the rock stars bios- seven of those, but
the most important reads were "Fingerprints of the Gods" (ancient Earth history) and "The Master Game" the
history of european religion.
Other History: Bought first comp boat in 1982, Mastercraft. Was an AWSA rated Judge and Boat Driver.
Owned the first inboard boat dealership in the state "Top Water Sports" with Supra Boats and was their largest
dealer on the West coast for three years. Also worked for the local dealers of Wellcraft, Sea Ray, Correct Craft
and Malibu.
My Hero: Bob LaPoint- was, still and always will be the absolute Monster of Slalom.
