kartSTART
Toyota Canada has sponsored the kartSTART program since 2011;
the only Canadian driver education program endorsed by the motorsport
governing authority ASN Canada FIA. kartSTART offers young drivers a
hands-on understanding of driving dynamics in vehicles that fit them:
go-karts. Families also experience the Toyota Star Safety System,
a suite of six safety features standard in every Toyota vehicle.

CSRC – University of Toronto
In 2012, Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC)
approached the University of Toronto to partner in a three-year study
designing feedback (alerts) in vehicles to help induce safer driving
behaviours. The study includes research such as: determining which feedback
are most effective in helping inhibit risky behaviours, in which situations
feedback can become a potential distraction, and whether safety benefits of
feedback persist even when it is no longer available. For more information

Canadian Blood Services
In 2015, Toyota collaborated with Canadian Blood Services to share
knowledge gained from years of auto-manufacturing experience. By
implementing philosophies of the Toyota Production System, Canadian Blood
Services will continue to find innovative ways to improve processes at its
blood production and distribution facility in Brampton, Ontario. Lessons
learned will be shared with the eight other production and distribution sites
across the country.
