GENERATIONS — Seat & Back Cushion Construction
The STANDARD and RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL CUSHION CONSTRUCTIONS for both BACK and SEAT CUSHIONS are listed below and are
included with each item in the price list. The following illustrations depict content, quality point and offering of the cushions featured in the Harden
Upholstery’s Generations. When specifying other than the standard cushioning, option must be noted on the order with additional charges if

Luxurious Crown — moderately soft, yet supportive quality seating.
A premium high-resiliency layered foam center wrapped with
premium fiber and encased in a muslin cover. Luxury Premiere
cushioning is intended for the value conscientious consumer who
desires a comfortable seat that will hold its shape and requires little
maintenance. Luxury Premiere seats should be reversed regularly
to maintain shape.

Relaxed, softer cushion.
A premium high-resilency layered foam center wrapped in a blend
down envelope, all encased in a down-proof ticking. Relaxed Down
seats should be reversed regularly to maintain shape. Comfort wrinkling
will occur with most fabrics due to the softer core.
Firmer, more supportive cushion — firmest cushion offered.
Super firm urethane layered foam center wrapped with premium fiber
and encased in a muslin cover. Super Firm Premiere cushioning is
intended for the consumer desiring a firm seat and a seat that will aide
in exiting the product. Super Firm Premiere seats should be reversed
regularly to maintain shape.

Combination Fabrics
To add an extra design flair to your seating, Harden offers a contrasting fabric option on all collections. You may specify throw pillows, multipillow backs, or even seat cushions in contrasting fabrics for a stylish statement.
Contrasting Welt
Where welt is standard, contrasting welt may be “special ordered” as follows: Fabric Welt on Fabric, Leather Welt on Fabric, or Leather Welt
on Leather.
Decorator Trim
It’s all in the detail…and trims. Add an extra decorative touch with colorful fringe around throw pillows, replace standard welt with cording, or
add a decorator banded skirt. Many plain and colored trims are available to coordinate beautifully with Harden’s nearly 1000 fabrics.
Quilting
For an extra touch of elegance, most fabrics can be outline or diamond quilted.

Arm covers are provided where appropriate.
Finish
Exposed wood on upholstery can be finished in any of our standard finishes, as well as a wide assortment of standard paints and decorative

Harden Furniture is the oldest family-owned and
operated furniture manufacturer in the US. Since
1844, Harden has been producing fine furniture
in its Central New York facilities.
With the exception of a few select frames,
all upholstery frames are bench-built in
McConnellsville, NY.
FORESTRY
Harden is able to maintain an ample native
hardwood supply without compromising natural
resources. Harden is certified to the Sustainable
Forestry Initiative® (SFI) forest certification
standard and and received Silver Exemplary
Status from the Sustainable Furnishings Council
(SFC).

In addition to forestry preservation,
Harden has been active in other
environmentally sensitive areas. The use
of ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons
(CFCs) in the manufacturing of upholstery
foams is one of the key issues currently
challenging the furniture industry. Despite
the added expense, Harden responds to
this concern by using only foams produced
with “ozone‑friendly” materials.
At Harden, the environment is not a
new issue. It’s been part of our thinking for
generations, and is part of the legacy that
we leave future generations.
