Summary
Most Expensive Sales
The average sale price for Manhattan apartments dipped slightly in the four weeks
leading up to September 1, and the total number of sales was virtually unchanged. The
average price for an apartment—taking into account both condo and co-op sales—was
$1.7 million, down from $1.8 million in the preceding month. The number of recorded
sales, 1,071, was about the same as the preceding month.

The top two sales were penthouse units at The Charles, a new Upper East Side
condominium on First Avenue between 71st and 72nd streets.
The most expensive sale was for $37.9 million for an 11,747-square-foot penthouse unit
in the building. The price is the most ever paid for a condo on the Upper East Side east
of Third Avenue. The unit comprises floors 29 through 32 of the building.

Pack. Minnelli is said to have relocated to Los Angeles for work and to
be closer to her family and friends.
A Greenwich Village penthouse that Jude
