THE
HOUSE
A luxury 5 bedroom home in the heart of Westminster,
28 Queen Anne’s Gate is a beautifully restored
Georgian house overlooking St James’s Park, one of
the finest properties for sale in Central London.
03
THE
HOUSE
A House With A History
28 Queen Anne’s Gate is a fine example of early
Queen Anne style, with the Dutch influence of Queen
Anne’s predecessor, William of Orange, evident
in the rare carved wooden canopy which frames
the door. This was a brief period in architectural
history, preluding the mass development of the
Georgian Age and as such the house, and indeed
the street, is of particular architectural interest.
Spanning a period of only 12 years between 17021714, Queen Anne architecture, often referred to as
English Baroque, exhibits a unique workmanship
- one of intricate and beautiful craftsmanship.
Today in the UK, it is rare to find original examples
of the time that remain untouched or unmodified
by the dominant Georgian style that followed.
Of particular note is the handsome carved staircase
which sweeps from the ground to the first floor: A
feature designed to impress visitors and lead them
to the grand first floor entertaining rooms with their
magnificent landscape views over St James’s Park.
Originally built as a fine London townhouse, Atelier
have endeavoured to capture the essence of the
building’s architecture whilst combining it with
the latest in contemporary luxury and modern
technology for its 21st century inhabitants..

A Cultural Command
Situated amongst London’s most revered sites;
Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of
Parliament, Buckingham Palace and St James’s
Park, Queen Anne’s Gate lives and breathes the
capital’s history and culture.
The Royal Academy, to the north of the park on
Piccadilly is famed for its annual Summer Exhibition
and championing of current British artists. The
National Gallery, featuring some of the world’s
most famous paintings is also located just north
of the park in Trafalgar Square. For something a
little more traditional visit Tate Britain on Millbank
overlooking the River Thames and housing
celebrated works by Turner, Henry Moore and
William Blake. Discover the life of another beloved
Brit, Winston Churchill, by a visit to the Cabinet
War Rooms, moments from the house on Clive
Steps, off Birdcage Walk, where the iconic Prime
Minister hunkered down directing the country’s
campaign during World War II.
With prominent sights at every
turn, from Big Ben to the London
Eye, the National Gallery to the
Tate Modern, London is a timeless
city offering a fascinating mix of
old and new.

To the west you’ll find the extensive
collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum
along with the Natural History Museum.
Catch a concert, maybe even the pomp
and circumstance of the Last Night of The
Proms at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall.
Or for something a little more tranquil
visit Westminster Cathedral on Victoria
Street, said to be based on Hagia Sophia in
Istanbul and St Marks in Venice, noted for
its marble work and mosaics.
The possibilities are endless.
Westminster Abbey holds several key
artefacts in the history of England,
including the shrine of St Edward the
Confessor, the tombs of kings and
queens, and countless memorials.

The Good Life
An affluent neighbourhood, the area around Queen Anne’s
Gate offers a wonderful choice of restaurants, cafés and
shops. Opt for the fine dining restaurants in and around
Parliament Square or the divinely tempting cafés and chic
eateries of Elizabeth Street in Belgravia, an area also home
to some of the most exclusive boutiques in London.
Buy fresh organic produce from Daylesford Organic on the
Pimlico Road, take in the neighbouring antique emporiums
or put in an order at the royal grocer Fortnum and Mason,
across the park on Piccadilly, who conveniently also operate
a delivery service.
Jog along the banks of the River Thames taking in, arguably,
the city’s most breathtaking vista, the gothic styled Houses
of Parliament, browse the collections of the Tate Britain
gallery or join one of the city’s most exclusive private
members clubs - now no longer just the domain of men with
the opening of Grace, the city’s first exclusive spa and health
club for women just off Belgrave Square. Only a snippet of
what a Central London life can be.
London has held on to its
reputation as one of Europe’s hippest
capitals with new landmarks and
trendy hotels, restaurants and clubs
opening up all the time.

HOTELS
The toast of the town
It would be hard to come up with a better array of
restaurants anywhere in the world than those that can be
found within the vicinity of 28 Queen Anne’s Gate.
London favourites Le Caprice, The Wolseley and Wiltons are
all across the park in St James. A short walk away heading
east is Roux on Parliament Square, whilst on Buckingham
Gate you’ll find the Michelin starred Quilon, serving up
south west coastal Indian cuisine. To the West, in Belgravia
visit Boisdales for traditional Scottish fare and a boisterous
atmosphere or for something a little more refined, there’s
the Michelin starred, modern French fine dining of Gordon
Ramsay’s Pétrus.
For the best English gastropub experience head to The
Thomas Cubitt on Elizabeth Street or The Orange on
Pimlico Road or head north to Mayfair to sample some of
the capital’s most fashionable restaurants with gastronomic
greats like Scotts, Le Gavroche, Hakkasan, Nobu, Coya
and Bentleys.
There are many of the capital’s leading hotels
in close proximity to Queen Anne’s Gate,
incorporating restaurants run by some of the
industry’s biggest names. Dinner by Heston
Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental, Marcus
Wareing at The Berkeley and Galvin in the Park
Lane Hilton as well as the ever popular China
Tang at The Dorchester. Closer to home is The
Goring, popularized by the Duchess of Cambridge
who chose to spend the night before her wedding
at the hotel. Recently refurbished the hotel
offers a discreet place for drinks and a modern
British menu.
Whatever your preference, there’s a restaurant for
every palate within 10 minutes of the doorstep, just
one of the many perks of living in Central London.
