INTRODUCTION TO SUZUKI VIOLIN
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Brought to Wayland by Wayland School of Music, Suzuki education has a 60 year history of success with young children.
Brain receptivity to language and music is at its peak at age 3 to 6, while supple young tendons and ligaments adapt more easily to playing
violin. Waiting till later misses the prime age for beginning an instrument! Our Suzuki violin classes are centered around creative and playful
activities including exercises, movement, and song. Children build strong beginner skills in a positive, encouraging atmosphere.
Teacher, child and parent work together, as parents learn along with their child in class and as partners at home. "Graduates" will be ready
to transition to level 2 class and/or individual instruction, as desired. Instruments provided! min 4/max 8

ROWING ON LAKE COCHITUATE - FOR STUDENTS AND ADULTS
Wayland-Weston Rowing Association offers summer rowing programs on Lake Cochituate for students and adults. These programs are
open to all. Rising 9th graders, this program is an excellent opportunity to try rowing, if you are thinking about joining our successful high
school team in the fall. We offer two student programs: an introductory, non-competitive program geared to the experience level of the
participants, and a competitive program for experienced rowers, which will include local races. The introductory program runs weekly,
Monday through Friday, at either 8-10 or 10-12. The competitive program is offered M-F 8:30-11, in three-week sessions. For further
information, please go to FamilyID.com and search for Wayland-Weston Rowing Association. There will be sweep and sculling
opportunities in both programs. All programs are located at the Wayland Town Beach. Adult programs will include learn to row
opportunities as well as sessions for experienced rowers. Full details will be available on FamilyID.com.
