We are always adding to our class schedule, to keep
up to date with what’s going on be sure to follow
our website www.cottagequiltingonline.com for our
most current schedule.
We keep a copy of our brochure on-line; as well we
have a copy of our class schedule in store at all
times.

Class Policy
Pre-registration is a must, classes fill early and fast. Fees can be accepted at the time of registration in person or
by phone.
Class supply lists will be emailed two weeks prior to the class start date. You may bring your own fabric and
supplies however you are extended 15% off your class supply list items, including fabric selection. Patterns and
kits excluded.
There must be three (3) minimum for a class to proceed. If the class is cancelled on Cottage Quilting’s behalf a
store credit will be issued to be redeemed within six months in the form of a gift certificate. This store credit may
be applied to another class of your choice, not to be redeemed for cash.
We consider your enrollment to be a commitment to our Educators, if you cancel prior than seven days to the
class start date a store credit in the full amount will be issued to you which must be redeemed within three
months. This store credit may be applied to another class of your choice. If you cancel within seven days of the
class date you will not receive a refund.
We request that you bring your own sewing machine to class but if you are unable to bring yours we do have
loaners. They are first come first serve so please ensure you let someone know prior to your class date so you
are not disappointed that there are no loaner machines left.
We hope you like the selection of classes coming up. We are happy to receive suggestions on others if you are
really interested in something else.

Quilt Till You Wilt
Do you want to sew while chatting to others? Do you want to
learn tips and tricks from ladies around you? Just need a big
space to baste that quilt? You are welcome to come down to
Cottage Quilting during the day and sew until your heart’s
content.

Bag O’Fun Night
Charity Chicks!
Have you taken one of our bag classes and are making a second
one but want some more guidance? Just enjoy making bags and
want to hang out with others who love bags too? Come to our
Bag O'Fun nights and hang out with the other "Bag Ladies". This
night is dedicated strictly to you ladies. There will be a qualified
instructor on hand to help you out with your questions.
Want to support your local community? Have a stash of
fabric you’re not sure what to do with anymore, donate it
to the Charity Chicks! One woman’s scraps are another
woman’s treasures! Come sew with a few ladies and
make something for the community.

Embroidery Club
Applique Club
A variety of skill levels are welcome. The first half of the monthly
session we’ll have small projects you can work on with us and
learn tips, tricks and techniques. You can finish the small project
or work on your own project. Our educator will be here to help
answer any questions you have.
Want to learn to appliqué, need help with your project ,
or just want to join a club. Come out and meet new
friends. Your instructor June will teach or help you in any
way she can. She will have a new placemat every month
for you to try.

Scrappy Club
Paper Piecing Club
Are you like the rest of us and have boxes and boxes of scraps?
Sit with Marieanne and figure out what to do with them. Each
month we'll come up with new ideas on how to rid your boxes of
that pretty pretty fabric you bought so long ago!
Want to learn paper piecing, need help with your project,or just
want to join a club. Come out and meet new friends. Your

Begin Stitching
Ready to drip your toes into the deep and exciting quilting waters? Then this is the class
for you! Everything you need to know to get started can be found in this class with Laurie,
from your perfect ¼” seam allowance, to chain piecing, to making accurate half square
triangles, to sandwiching, machine quilting and binding. You will be hanging this beauty in
your home with pride!

Create this beautiful Kimono using the "2 Fabric Applique Quilts" method using fusible
web and machine applique, raw-edge appliqué, or hand applique. The choice is yours!

Ultimate Binding
Bring orphan blocks you have or muslin blocks and learn three (3) different binding
techniques! Mitered Corners, Machine Binding and a double colored binding – trust us
your corners will match front and back!

English Paper Piecing
I am sure you have seen those beautiful English paper pieced quilts called
“Grandmother’s Flower Garden”! In this class you will learn this relaxing technique
to make a framed picture or you could use it to make a pillow. There are a million
possibilities once you learn how to make this charming hexagons.

Patch Abilities – Your Choice of Pattern
Come learn the techniques in Applique in easy manageable, projects. You will
make a 6x24 wall hanging. This is perfect for the beginner, or someone who is
looking to get into Applique. You can learn blanket stitch or satin stitch, corners,
curves and straight to the point!

Games Quilt – Image to be updated
Come join the fun and make this unique kid's game quilt. It contains 4 blocks each one a
game board; Chess, tic tac toe, trouble and snakes and ladders. This is a great stash
buster pattern, and will make a great present for the little ones in your life. During the
class we will work on all 4 game boards and make the snakes and ladders. You will have
as much fun making this one of a kind quilt, as you will giving it.

Necessary Clutch
The Necessary Clutch Wallet is perfect and compact - it’s all the rage! It isn’t just your ordinary
wallet. Carry your cell phone, cheques, cash, cards, coins, and still have room for your favorite
lipstick or personal items. This class not only teaches the basic pattern with twist lock closure but
you will learn additional tips, improved cutting, and short cuts that will save you time and money. As
well, you will learn to make an optional strap that is both adjustable and/or removable.
Please come to class with your wallet precut. Simple and improved tips will be sent to you prior to
class that clarify cutting and offer helpful suggestions. If you are too nervous to cut before class, we
will help you then!

Learn your feet BOM, All machines welcome
Do you have feet in your sewing machine accessory tray that you have no idea what they
are for? Well we'll help you utilize your machine to the fullest potential. Every brand of
machine is welcome because the theory behind the feet is all the same!
This is a 6 month block of the month and you will learn a variety of feet. How to use
them, what to create with them and is completely SCRAP friendly so your fabric costs will
be minimal!
Cost: $120 for a total of 6 sessions, you'll have a COMPLETE quilt top if you attend all 6

Scan N Cut
Thinking of getting the Brother Scan 'N Cut? Or do you have one and need help in using it?
Come to this information hands on class. Instructor June Hoiland will teach you how to
get started on the basics for making applique pieces with this machine. You will be using
a pattern from its memory (Sun Bonnet Sue) or from a scanned pattern (Farmer's
Market).

Crazy Quilted Christmas Stocking
Learn the art of Crazy Quilting. In this class you will learn how to create a crazy patch
Christmas Stocking using cottons, satins, and interesting fabrics. We will learn hand
embroidered stitches or you can machine quilt your stocking. So start collecting all your
interesting fabrics, laces and embellishments for this fun class.

Machine Quilting
Overcome your free-motion fears and build confidence in your machine quilting. This
two day course will take you through needles, threads, batting selection, sandwiching and
more. Walking Foot? We'll show you. Darning Foot? Huh? We'll show you.
You'll learn how to use these feet, how to quilt your own projects and feel proud in your
work.

Retreat Bag
The Retreat Bag is a simple zippered pouch with a wide base and a wide
structured opening. There is a casing in the top where you insert two wire
frames (one on each side), which helps it stay open when open, and helps turn
the corners down when closed. It has two optional slip pockets inside and a
long zipper that helps it open wide.

Fibre Art Frenzy

felting, dissolving stabilizer, bobbin thread sketching and beginner beading.
This class is perfect for those wanting to try out fibre art for the first time and

Bag Making 101
If you want to jump on the bag making wagon, but don't know where to start this class is
for you. In this class you will make the London City Bag by Pink Sands Beach*, which has a
zipper top and loads of pockets, and can be worn cross shoulder or one shoulder. This
project is perfect for honing your skills. During this class you will learn how to read a
pattern, make handles, install hardware, use fusible interfacing and install zippers with
ease. Come discover how fun and simple bag making can be.

Serger Boot Camp
Have a serger and don't know how to use it to it's fullest potential? Interested in buying a
new serger but want to make sure you can use it?
This Boot Camp is for Serger owners who would like to learn how to do the many stitches
on their serger with confidence. We will take you from basic threading of your machine to
4-thread stitch options. We have a project book that will help you gain confidence in your
skills!
