Tramp Champs
Following the AWE camp, Elliott Stratton and Jack Petrie (WA) and

Kingborough’s Trampoline Team.
Jack (former Tasmanian, now 17+ Men’s Trampoline National
Champion) and Alex ( current 17+ Men’s National Champion on Double
Mini) spent time training with Kingborough’s Accelerated and Senior
International Teams, while Elliott spent time coaching with the Artistic
Men’s and Women’s Teams as well as the Trampoline team and also
trained with the Senior Internationals.
Mainland trampoline gymnasts are continually drawn to Tasmania for
the coaching expertise, friendly training atmosphere and the lasting
friendships from the people within the sport.
Development and Tumbling Teams
During the July holidays assessments were held for our new
competitive teams – Tramp Development and Tumble Team.
The focus of the Tramp Development Team is to provide a competition
pathway for 11-16 year old trampoline gymnasts with emerging talent
who have formerly been part of the club badge program or former team
members in past years. Tramp Development Team members will focus
on developing routines and skills, including multiple saults and twists
for the 2016 competition season.
The Tumble Team is an extension program from the tumbling club
badges focusing on the development of tumbling passes for future
competitions. Both the Tramp Development Team and the Tumbling
Team are being led by Advanced Silver coach and ranked 16th in the
World for Double-Mini Tramp. Damien will be assisted by Team Coach,
Alison Morgan for the Tramp Development Team and club badge
leader for Tumbling, Ella Brothers in the Tumble Team program
We wish both new teams and coaches the best of luck!

Kingborough hosted the Australian National Trampoline Team this
month for the Australian Winning Edge (AWE) Training Camp held
from the 3-5 July.

Team's preparation for the 2015 World Championships which are
being held in Denmark in November.
There was a star-studded line up at the camp, including 2012
Olympian Blake Gaudry, as well as 2014 World Championship
finalist, Shaun Swadling. Kingborough's very own, Jack Penny was
also in attendance, as well as 2014 World Cup
finalist, Ty Swadling. 2014 Youth Olympic

National Champion, Claire Arthur.
The training camp was led by Australian
National Coach, Brett Austine with
Commonwealth MAG Gold Medallist, Sam
Offord attending as Trampoline Team

The Kingborough Trampoline Team would like
to wish Jack and the entire Trampoline National
Team all the best in their final trial being held in
Adelaide next month.

to Olympic Diving Gold Medalist and former Australian trampoline

experiences, his rise to fame, mental illness, drug addiction,
depression, anxiety, sexuality, and his overall experience as a current
high performance athlete.
At the end of presentation Matthew took time out to meet the
trampoline team and speak personally with them regarding some of
these issues.
National Double Mini Camp
Kingborough Senior Gymnast, Damien Axelsen travelled to Sydney
this month to take part in the Australian National Double-Mini Team
