Celebrate Springtime
Message from the President
Dear Member:
Annual Meeting Notice
Wepawaug-Flagg will hold its 78th
annual meeting at the Country House
Restaurant in East Haven at 5:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, April 23. At the annual
meeting, there will be an election of
board members.
In accordance with the bylaws of the
credit union, the nominating committee
has presented the following slate of
nominees for three-year terms: 1) La
Donna Blow 2) James Finch 3) Janet
Sola.
La Donna Blow has served on the board
since 2010 and is currently the payroll
supervisor for the Cheshire Board of
Education employees. Jim Finch has
served multiple terms on the board
and is currently the head of the finance
department for the town of Branford.
Janet Sola is completing her first term
on the board and is a retired teacher.
No petitions for the board were received
by the March 14 deadline and there will
be no nominations from the floor. The
election will not be held by ballot.
All members are welcome to attend
the annual meeting and the cost to
attend is $35 per person. Visit any of
our branches or call (203) 288-1695
to reserve your spot and request your
dinner choice.
We hope to see you there!
Each season brings changes. This spring is no different. At home it’s
time to get the lawnmower out and ready to go. At the credit union it is
technology that drives much of the change. We are not big enough to
be the leader in many of the new technologies, but we need to quickly
follow when something catches on. Most of us write fewer checks than
five or ten years ago. Many people carry little or no cash and use a
debit card for small and sometimes large transactions. Some members
welcome change, others prefer the status quo. This year we will introduce
electronic delivery of statements as an option for our members. We will
have a mobile banking application for smart phones this year. The biggest
addition we will have is the ability to electronically sign most documents
which will permit closing of loans and opening accounts without
coming into a branch. Imagine getting an email with a link to a secure
website, reviewing the documents at your convenience, electronically
signing them and the loan proceeds are then deposited into your
share account. Technology makes this possible. We just introduced a
Secured Credit Card for those working to build or rebuild their credit.
Change is constant but one of the best parts of this credit union is
that we look willingly and confidently toward the future while remaining
solidly grounded in our heritage of providing great service to all.
On behalf of your directors, I want to invite you to attend the annual
meeting of the Credit Union which will be held on April 23rd. It is a
time for our long-term members and new members to meet and hear
about what is going on at their credit union. Please see the
annual meeting notice, (left), for more details.
Sincerely,
President

School students.
The event, held at the end of January, served as a fundraiser
to raise money for field trips, enrichment programs and to
purchase classroom supplies for Bear Path Elementary School students.
“Our core values include community service and giving back to the communities we
serve,” said David Hinchey, WFFCU’s marketing manager. “The money donated goes to
support a great school and a great cause.”
The event was held at the Elks Lodge in Hamden and was attended by numerous
Hamden-area families. Hinchey was one of several judges who helped judge which
local restaurant had the best red sauce/Sunday gravy.
“It was a lot of fun judging,” Hinchey said. “I was flattered they asked me to be a
celebrity judge!”
The celebrity judges were asked to pick the best one out of nine sauces, which were
donated by local restaurants, while those who attended voted on which family sauce
entries were the best.
Hinchey said all the sauces were really good but the winner—Everyday Gourmet in
Hamden—was the best, while sauce from Luce in Hamden was the runner-up. The
celebrity judges were chosen because of their significance and commitment to the
Hamden Community.

Celebrate Springtime
Message from the President
Dear Member:
Annual Meeting Notice
Wepawaug-Flagg will hold its 78th
annual meeting at the Country House
Restaurant in East Haven at 5:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, April 23. At the annual
meeting, there will be an election of
board members.
In accordance with the bylaws of the
credit union, the nominating committee
has presented the following slate of
nominees for three-year terms: 1) La
Donna Blow 2) James Finch 3) Janet
Sola.
La Donna Blow has served on the board
since 2010 and is currently the payroll
supervisor for the Cheshire Board of
Education employees. Jim Finch has
served multiple terms on the board
and is currently the head of the finance
department for the town of Branford.
Janet Sola is completing her first term
on the board and is a retired teacher.
No petitions for the board were received
by the March 14 deadline and there will
be no nominations from the floor. The
election will not be held by ballot.
All members are welcome to attend
the annual meeting and the cost to
attend is $35 per person. Visit any of
our branches or call (203) 288-1695
to reserve your spot and request your
dinner choice.
We hope to see you there!
Each season brings changes. This spring is no different. At home it’s
time to get the lawnmower out and ready to go. At the credit union it is
technology that drives much of the change. We are not big enough to
be the leader in many of the new technologies, but we need to quickly
follow when something catches on. Most of us write fewer checks than
five or ten years ago. Many people carry little or no cash and use a
debit card for small and sometimes large transactions. Some members
welcome change, others prefer the status quo. This year we will introduce
electronic delivery of statements as an option for our members. We will
have a mobile banking application for smart phones this year. The biggest
addition we will have is the ability to electronically sign most documents
which will permit closing of loans and opening accounts without
coming into a branch. Imagine getting an email with a link to a secure
website, reviewing the documents at your convenience, electronically
signing them and the loan proceeds are then deposited into your
share account. Technology makes this possible. We just introduced a
Secured Credit Card for those working to build or rebuild their credit.
Change is constant but one of the best parts of this credit union is
that we look willingly and confidently toward the future while remaining
solidly grounded in our heritage of providing great service to all.
On behalf of your directors, I want to invite you to attend the annual
meeting of the Credit Union which will be held on April 23rd. It is a
time for our long-term members and new members to meet and hear
about what is going on at their credit union. Please see the
annual meeting notice, (left), for more details.
Sincerely,
President
