Tuesday, July 12 at Southeast Guilford High School
2:30-4:00pm and 4:00-7:00pm
The intention to development of a 1,500 acre “megasite” has
brought the need for a lot of planning and information. The GreensboroRandolph Megasite Foundation is partnering with Duke Energy to conduct a
site study to determine the least impactful route to install a new transmission
line that will provide electricity to the megasite area.
This open house is designed to answer questions about the megasite & how
the preferred route will be selected.

Jonah: Mistakes in Running the Wrong Way
[Today we begin our summer series on the book of Jonah. Jonah is the remarkable
story of one man’s rotten attitude and reluctance to trust and obey God. Sent to
Nineveh to declare hope to God’s enemies, Jonah’s stubborn self-righteousness will
stop at nothing to avoid doing what God had asked of him. In only 58 short verses
we will go on a journey to discover the height of God’s love and power for all of us .]

Special Thanks!
It was amazing to watch yet another example of Tabernacle's great love and
support of its ministries during our 2016 Vacation Bible School. In addition to
the work months before the actual week of VBS, there were 75-85 youth and
adults who came out to minister to God's youngest children last week. They
lead rotations, acted as shepherds, set up decorations, cooked, sang and cleaned
up just to name a few ways you helped. Thank you so much for your generosity
of heart and spirit! A week like this would be impossible without your
time and support.
Thank you! Kim Cripps and Beth Woods
Summer Finance Update from our Finance Committee

HONORARIUMS AND MEMORIALS GIVEN THIS WEEK:
WELCOME TO TABERNACLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH!
 CHILDREN ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! Childcare for infants and preschool
toddlers is available in our nursery (located behind the sanctuary).
 IF YOU NEED A MINISTER, or are searching for a church home, please speak
with those around you or call one of our pastors, John Woods or Justin
Cabe.
 The flowers on the retable are given to the glory of God.
Tabernacle recently wrapped up another great Vacation Bible School at the end
of June, and then just a few days later sent a group of youth and adults to
Honduras on a mission trip. These are just two of the many ministries being
supported by our church this summer. With summer vacations and out of town
trips, it can be easy to lose sight of the many ministries that are still going on at
our church. These ministries are supported through your partnership and giving
to our operating budget. We need the support of our members all year long and
especially during the summer months. Please keep your
church and the ministries supported both here locally and
throughout the world in your thoughts and prayers and
consider an extra gift to the operating budget in support.
DO YOU COUNT??
We need some help. Each week, our finance team has a pair or offering
counters who begin the initial process of counting and securing our weekly
offering. With multiple counters, it offers accountability and only takes about
30-40 minutes after our worship on Sunday. Usually counters are scheduled a
month at a time but if you would be willing to count for just a couple of
Sundays every 4 -6 months, it would be a great help. Please consider this service
opportunity. For more information or to volunteer, please contact our Finance
Chair, Christopher Ehrhardt ([email protected]).
TUMC Worship Committee
There will be a worship committee meeting on July 18th. The following
members should plan to be in attendance: Richard Baker, Betty Hobbs, Steve
Redmon, June Coyle, Ron Hedrick, Tanya Roach, Sarah Daffron, Lane Lambert,
Terry Spence, Jay Gordon, Jane Rousey, Jimmy Horney.
For more information please see Linda Bigham.
