Cooperative Information:
The Welka cooperative is part of the Oromia Union, the largest coffee
farmer’s union in Ethiopia. Coffee from Welka comes from just the farmers
in and around that community. Certified Organic and Fair Trade. The washing station to which all the local
farmers bring their coffee is located at 1950 meters. During the harvest
and processing seasons, the co-op members pool their labor to process
the coffee that they’ve harvested themselves.
Cupping Notes:
This coffee received its highest mark from cuppers in the acidity category,
fitting for a coffee grown at high altitude.
