News from the Home & School Association
Happy Summer, Churchill Families,
As we reflect back on this year, we would like to take a moment to thank each and every chairperson, volunteer and attendee at our
meetings and events. What an incredible school year this has been, and that's because of the great Mustang Families we have. We
are already looking forward to next school year.
Thank you to the 5th Grade Party planning team for the lovely send off for our 5th grade students. The kids spent the afternoon
receiving and signing yearbooks, taking photo booth pictures, listening and dancing to music, playing bags and basketball, and
simply spending time with their friends.
Special thanks to Mr. Clason and Mr. Lagger for once again planning an awesome Field Day. So much laughter and fun was had the
entire day. We are also so appreciative of Kimberly Beeler and Tom Clarke who spent the day taking hundreds of photos to capture
the day.
Keep in mind that there is one final Market Day order/pickup for the school year. Orders are due by June 17, 2015, with pickup
scheduled on June 22, 2015. Make sure you are stocked for summer.
Have a wonderful summer.
Respectfully,
Margie Hartigan, Churchill Home and School Association President

Notes from the Music Room. . .
Wow! This year has certainly flown by! It was truly a great
year with our 3rd and 5th graders putting on awesome
musicals, the Honor Choir giving a wonderful concert, and all
the classes learning a lot of terrific music and musical
concepts. It has been such a great year working with all your
students, and I can’t believe that it’s over already! I sincerely
hope that all of our students and their families have a
wonderful, relaxing, safe summer!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge “Thank
You” to all the students and families who wrote such nice
letters and sent in thoughtful gifts for Teacher Appreciation
week and the end of the year. It is so nice to be remembered!
I also want to express my gratitude for all the parents who
helped out with musicals or Honor Choir this year or
supported our music program in any way. We have such a
great Home and School Organization as well as individual
parents who are so supportive of our students who are
involved in music! Many thanks to all of you!
I want to encourage all of our Churchill families to take
advantage of the great concerts, musicals, plays, and other
artistic programs that are available during the summer. It’s
such a great thing when students get to experience different
types and styles of music!
Again, thanks to all of our Churchill families for a wonderful
year! I look forward to seeing you in the fall!
-- Julie Van Camp, Music Teacher
From the P.E.Department
Thank you all for a great school year. Recently we played a
week of Field Day games to prepare for the big day. We
ended the school year with some of our favorite games. A big
thanks to all who volunteered time for Field Day. We could
not make it happen without the gracious volunteers spending
their time with us and the kids. Thanks to the Home and
School members that make the day a huge success.
A big thank you to Mr. Lagger! After four years Joe Lagger
has accepted a position at Eastview Elementary as the full
time P.E. teacher. Good Luck Mr. Lagger.
Get outdoors and have great summer.

From the Art Room…
How time flies when you’re having fun! The 2014-2015
school year was a busy, exciting, and fun time in the
Churchill Art Room. Students learned about new drawing,
painting, sculpting, and many other art creation
techniques, as well as learning about many new artists and
styles. In the art room we also discussed many topics
related to different school subjects like science, math, and
history. Students discovered that art can be found
anywhere and no matter what level of artistic skill you
may have, everyone can use their creativity to make
something amazing! Thank you to all the parents who
contributed to the Square One art fundraiser and Artsonia
as well. Your continued support of the Art Education
program at Churchill is greatly appreciated!
Summer Art Camp and Art Workshop Opportunities:
