Seahorses & Sea Glass
A muted vintage palette takes the Seahorse die to a whole new level. This sophisticated design mixes
glittered elements with embossed as well as die cut Shimmer Sheetz. It’s just right for an anniversary

Instructions::
1.
Make an A2 (4.25” x 5.5”) left side-fold card
base from black cardstock.
2. Die cut the second largest Stitched Rectangle
from Dark Goldenrod Soft Finish Cardstock.
Center on card front using pieces of Clear
Double Sided Adhesive Tape to secure the
rectangle.
3. Test a small area on a scrap piece of Bronze
Metallic Shimmer Sheetz with a bit of
Blending Solution to see which side will
release color when altered. Emboss a 4” x
5” piece of Bronze Metallic SS in the Sea
Glass Embossing Folder making sure that
the RAISED shapes are on the side that will
release color. Alter the embossed piece with
Blending Solution; then lightly sand with the
sanding block. Continue to alter with two or
three different Alcohol Inks in earthy tones.
Center the rectangle on the card front.
4. Die cut 2 rocks (one small, one large) from
Basic Black Shimmer Sheetz. Die cut 2
Seaweed pieces from Fire Opal Gemstone
Shimmer Sheetz. Reminder: You must
use a Metal Adaptor Plate when die cutting
Shimmer Sheetz. The cutting side of the die
must face the metal plate with the Shimmer
Sheetz facing right side up in between. (The
rest of the ‘cutting sandwich’ is whatever is
recommended for your die cutting machine.)
5. Die cut two Seahorse overlays from black
cardstock. Cover the FRONT of a piece of
black cardstock with Clear Double Sided
Adhesive Sheet and die cut two rocks (one
small and one large). Cover the FRONT of a
piece of white cardstock with Clear Double
Sided Adhesive Sheet and die cut two
Seahorse silhouettes.
6. Remove the release sheet from the Seahorse
silhouettes and carefully align a black
Seahorse overlay on each one. Tip: Use
Fine Pointed Tweezers to avoid getting any
fingerprints on the exposed adhesive. Add
Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the
Seahorses, polish with a fingertip to
bring out the maximum
sparkle. Shade with
alcohol-based markers;
blend colors as shown.
7. Remove the release sheet
from the black cardstock
rocks. Add Warm Diamond
Silk Microfine Glitter; polish
with a fingertip. Note: Warm
Diamond is translucent so the
black cardstock shows through
the glitter!
8. Refer to the photo for placement
of all elements. Complete the
card front as shown, overlapping
seaweed and rocks. Use foam tape
wherever you want more dimension,
Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape for
those pieces that are flush against the
background.
