Marketing Your Business
On Facebook And Social
Media SitesAges 18+
Mystery shopping is a splendid way to earn extra
money and have fun at the same time. Shoppers
receive assignments from companies that do
business evaluations. An assignment might be
to evaluate a restaurant, retail store, bank, gas
station, theatre, entertainment event, etc. At the
conclusion of the evaluation visit, the mystery
shopper completes and submits a report. This
class will provide an overview of how mystery
shopping works, what types of assessment forms
are used, the do’s and don’ts of completing an
assignment, and how to get into the “shopper’s network.” Even if you have taken this class
previously, you will benefit from the updated
materials and contact lists.
This dynamic class teaches you effective
social media marketing that gets results and how
to go beyond being a user on Facebook and social
media sites to get leads, find prospective clients,
and bring people in the door using proven social
media marketing methods and tools. You will
learn how to create a Facebook page for your
business, create content that attracts fans and
followers, connect your website to Facebook,
and how other businesses use coupons, promotions, and contests to attract and build a Fan
base, local listings, and “check-ins.” You also will
learn how to save hours of marketing time and
get valuable information on sites such as Yelp
and Foursquare, as well as prepare a marketing
calendar and plan to take your social media
activity to a new level for your business.

How To Play Piano
By EarAges 18+
SERIES special
Piano Made Easy SeriesAges 18+
Learn the wonderful world of piano with our
renowned one-day piano classes. “Instant Piano”
will get you started playing the piano with two
hands. It’s designed for beginners and anyone
who has had piano lessons in the past but came
away unsatisfied. Some music background is
recommended, but is not absolutely necessary.
“Piano by Ear” in the afternoon delves much
deeper into the secrets of music. You’ll be
astounded to see how simple and predictable
music is when seen from this perspective. Though
not for beginners, it’s recommended for anyone
with a chord background, including guitar players. Taking the morning Instant Piano workshop
should be enough training for the “Piano by Ear”
class, but if you are a real beginner, you might
want to hold off taking the “Piano by Ear” class
until it is offered in the next session.

Contrary to popular belief, anyone can learn to
play piano by ear. This workshop shows you the
inside secrets professional piano players use (but
never reveal). You’ll learn how to pick tunes right
out of your head. In addition, you will learn how
to get songs off the radio (think of the money
you’ll save on sheet music). You’ll even learn how
to transpose. This workshop goes beyond mere
“ear training.” In this class, you’ll obtain information found nowhere else, and you’ll be picking
out tunes by ear — with both hands — from the
very first day. Open to musicians (not just piano
players) who have a basic understanding of chord
theory. Beginners should take “Instant Piano
For Hopelessly Busy People” as a prerequisite
for this class.

Instant Piano For
Hopelessly Busy PeopleAges 18+
Music teachers may not want you to know this,
but you don’t need years of weekly lessons to
learn piano. Robert Laughlin created the one-day
piano workshop in 1982. Used by more than 300
teachers nationwide, this workshop has been
taken by more than 100,000 students. In just
half a day you can learn enough secrets of the
trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. The
difference is piano teachers teach note reading,
and piano-playing professionals use chords. In
this class, you will learn all the chords needed
to play any song. You’ll also learn how to play
several songs, and then perfect your technique
at home using an exclusive CD designed by the
instructor. If you can find middle C, and know
the meaning of Every Good Boy Does Fine, you
already know enough to enroll in this workshop.
If not, ask for a free piano preparation pamphlet.
Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to
Piano Pamphlet, PO Box 898, Chico, CA 95927.

Roman villa, the Getty Villa is a gorgeous estate
perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean
in Malibu. After nine years — and a cost of $275
million — this museum reopened in 2006 as the
home of the Getty’s Antiquities Collection. It is
the only museum in the United States dedicated
solely to antiquities from the Mediterranean
region. Twelve hundred Greek, Roman, and
Etruscan artifacts from 6500 BC to 600 AD are
on display in an exquisite setting of Romaninspired architecture, gardens, and ocean
breezes. Lunch is on your own at the Villa’s café
which offers a variety of sandwiches, salad, and
hot entrees.
As we sit back and enjoy a scenic ride through
Ventura County’s beautiful Heritage Valley

Goldstone ComplexAges 18+
Have you ever wondered what outer space
sounds like? The Goldstone Deep Space
Communications Complex, located on the Fort
Irwin Army Base in California’s Mojave Desert, is
a 53-square-mile complex featuring large antennas that allow J.P.L. and NASA to “listen” to outer
space. Our fascinating, behind-the-scenes tour
begins at the Goldstone museum where three
large areas are dedicated to current and past
missions and the Deep Space Network history.
With a J.P.L. docent, we then will travel into the
desert to see the huge antennas. Measuring up
to 230 feet across, these massive antennas are
used in a variety of ways, including sensitive
radio telescopes for scientific investigations
and for spotting comets and asteroids. Lunch in
Goldstone’s Cafeteria in the Complex is included.
Note: When you register for this trip, you must
provide your full legal name (as it appears on
your driver’s license or other government-issued
identification) and bring valid, governmentissued identification with you on the day of the
tour to present to Base Security (non-U.S. citizens
must have proper documentation).

Library is the special Christmas exhibit: “An
American Christmas” which features a winter
wonderland of 24 trees decorated to celebrate
the defining moments of America’s road to

its own piece of magnificent art. An included
docent-guided tour will take you back to the
1980s and the world that Reagan shaped during
his eight years in the White House. Learn about
the events that molded his character, visit a fullscale replica of the Oval Office as it was during
his administration, and reflect at his final resting
place with spectacular views of the Conejo Valley.
See a piece of the Berlin Wall, immerse yourself
in Camp David and Rancho del Cielo, and catch
a glimpse into Ronald and Nancy’s devoted
marriage. A highlight of your day will be walking
through Air Force One, the airplane that served
Reagan throughout his presidency. Upon arrival,

Any student can significantly enhance grades,
self-confidence, and chances for scholarships
and college admissions by performing academic skills in alignment with the brain’s natural
patterns. This makes note taking, reading, studying, memorizing, and test taking amazingly
efficient. Students also will discover simple
methods for understanding math and other
subjects, optimizing focus and concentration,
and preventing test anxiety. Registrants of all
ages describe this class as “awesome,” “necessary,” and “easy to understand.” The instructor,
Curtis Adney, M.S., J.D., graduated at the top of
his college class with a 4.0 GPA and earned a Juris
Doctor degree from Brigham Young University.
Parents are welcome to register and participate

writing
Does your child write badly or does he/she show
promise, but lacks the polish of professional
writing? Whichever the case, this class will serve
your child well. It will make bad writers good and
good writers very good. The instruction uses a
very successful new theory that converts the
pictures we think with into verbal expression.
Students love the program because while it is
like a strategy game, they soon begin to see
significant improvement in their writing. This
class offers the best of all worlds: it is easy to
understand, and it is effective. There is homework with this class.
