It is important to verify whether your engine uses
standard bolts or torque to yield (TTY) bolts. You can
reuse standard bolts if they are not damaged, but we
recommend replacing TTY bolts because it is not possible
to determine if a bolt has been improperly tightened past
its yield. The proper tech manual or technical service
bulletin (TSB) should help you identify which bolts need
replacing. A worn or “looked ok” bolt could break and
cause major engine damage, or may not provide the
proper clamp load, causing a failed head gasket.

MEET THE RELIANCE TEAM
Gary Klein is an Inside Salesman at our Harlan, IA location. In addition, he is our Outside
Sales Liaison and Education & Safety Chair. Gary has over 25 years of experience in parts
sales. He has been with us since 2005 and has prior experience in motorcycle, automotive,
and train parts sales. He was Salesman of the Year for 2015 at Harlan.
Gary lives in Harlan with his wife Beth and their last at-home child Madison.
They also have 5 other children: Travis, Brandon, Amanda, Mikaelyn and
Nathan. Gary’s hobbies include collecting music memorabilia, golf and
traveling (he tries to combine the last two if possible). On the weekends he
likes to visit the Strategic Air Command Museum, where he volunteers
as a guide. He serves as a Technical advisor for the museum and also
for the Museum over the Rockies in Denver Colorado.
