S. Roger Dominey, CLU, CFP®, ChFC
NAIFA-Jacksonville President
September is the most exciting month of the year in
our business. Summer vacations are over; children
are back in school; and we begin our normal
routines once again. More life insurance is sold in
the fall than any other time of year as we get back
into our routines and think about our financial responsibility to our
families and loved ones.
It is no accident that September is Life Insurance Awareness Month
for NAIFA. Work a little harder, make a few more calls and ask
your clients and centers of influence for another referral to a new
prospect during the month of September and you can make 2012
your best year ever!
September also marks our fiscal year kick-off for our membership
luncheon meetings. Please join us for our first meeting on
Wednesday, September 26th for an exciting meeting including CE
credits. Our meetings will again be held at The University Club this
year. Please come and bring a friend or associate.
Together let's make it a great year for NAIFA-Jacksonville!

There's a growing crisis of too many Americans not having adequate
life insurance protection. According to the industry research group
LIMRA, 30 percent of US households have no life insurance
whatsoever.
Today there are 11 million fewer American households covered by life insurance compared with six
years ago. Here's the bottom line: A majority of families either have no life insurance or not enough,
leaving them one accident or terminal illness away from a financial catastrophe for their loved ones.
To make sure Americans are reminded of the need to include life insurance in their financial plans,
the nonprofit LIFE Foundation coordinates Life Insurance Awareness Month. Each September, LIFE
is joined in this educational initiative by more than 100 of the nation's leading insurance companies
and industry groups. LIFE's website is the leading source of objective information about life
insurance.

Dear Members:
We have had a 25.2% increase in PAC giving from June 30, 2012
to August 14th. We also experienced a 14.3% increase in contributors.
REMEMBER, our goal is to hit $10,000 in NAIFA, IFAPAC-Jacksonville contributions by December
the 10th.
We have only $4,214 dollars more to go. Please, everyone chip in, we can do this!
The Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC) advances the legislative
interests of NAIFA, seeks to preserve a favorable governmental climate and promotes the best
interests of consumers-as served by active members of local associations - by supporting the
campaigns of carefully selected candidates for elective office. There is no more important
function of NAIFA than impacting on laws and regulations affecting the products NAIFA
members sell and the customers they serve. Our legislative and political programs are NAIFA's
first line of offense and defense. NAIFA created its political action committee in 1966. IFAPAC was
and still is the association's strong response to the need for vigorous, effective representation on
behalf of members of its local and state associations.
