Lake Regional Health System offers care

aring for our diverse community requires
multiple levels of service. For the nearly
36,000 patients who visit it each year,
Lake Regional’s Level III trauma center is
an important resource. Many others access our health
system through visits to their primary care physician,
like internist James Froncek, D.O., or specialists like
cardiologist Tim McDermott, M.D., both of whom are
profiled in this issue.
Lake Regional also plays a role in supporting our
business community. Since joining Lake Regional
Occupational Medicine four years ago, Pauline Abbott,
D.O., has been helping local businesses of all sizes reduce the costs associated with
job-related injuries. I hope you will enjoy reading more about Dr. Abbott’s services
on page 54.
Also in this issue of Vim & Vigor, we welcome two providers to Lake Regional—
one familiar face, Wayne Cooper, M.D., and one new one, Ann Blackman, M.D.
After retiring from private practice in January, Dr. Cooper joined our hospitalist team; Dr. Blackman recently began treating patients at Lake Regional Urgent
Care. Both are welcome additions to LRHS.
On page 56, you’ll read about the 32nd Annual HK’s Golf Tournament scheduled for June 4-6. We think you’ll find it’s the premier golfing event at the lake, and
I encourage you to support the hospital as a sponsor or golfer.
