“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely
they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.”
Isaiah 49:15-16
As I write I am sitting in a labor and delivery room of Baptist Medical Center East with my sweet
wife. We have celebrated the New Year and are now anxiously awaiting the birth of a new son.
Like no other time, witnessing the miracle of birth and the blessing of life causes one to ponder
the awesomeness of God.
One of the things that stands out to me during this time is the immediate love my wife has
for our children upon their birth. Now I am not saying that I do not love our children at birth
because nothing could be further from the truth. Yet, there is a definite distinction in the love of
a mother and father. It is this fact that makes the truth of Isaiah 45:15-16 so incredible. Please
read the passage above one more time.
Can you even imagine a lady forgetting her child while he is nursing? Could you imagine
a mom looking down at her nursing son and not having compassion for him? Such an event
seems ridiculous, even unimaginable to us. Using this illustration and how far fetched such a
situation would seem to us, God
says that this “may” happen but
that He “will not forget you.”
Do you get the picture? God
loves us even more than the
greatest love we witness in life
(that of a mother and child) and
there is never a time that we are
not on His mind! He even goes
a step further. Not only are
we always on His mind; we are
etched in the palm of His hand!
I hope that this truth
encourages you as it has
encouraged me. In 2010 may
we never forget that we are in
the thoughts and held in the
hands of Almighty God, and
may this truth draw us to a more
intimate relationship with Him.

The Year in Review
2009 was a banner year for the church
choir. We were blessed to learn much
new music and experience growth in
number.
There were several Sundays where it
was “standing room only”. More singers
than chairs! Wow! The average Sunday
morning attendance for the year was 23.
Our enrollment reached a high of 41,
but evening school, other ministries in
our church and family situations have
taken members out, but we still have an
active enrollment of 32.
I’m extemely grateful to and for the men
we have, but we need more men to join
them. The ladies are “over-powering”
us. It’s time some of you stepped up to
the plate.
Join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:308:00pm in the sanctuary. 2010 is here.
Let’s sww what the Lord has in store for
us. Join in prayer for this choir. “Let’s
make His praise glorious!

LIBRARY MINISTRY
Dear Church Family,
Today is a New Day, A New Year,
and a NEW BEGINNING. Our church
is experiencing new growth in all areas.
It seems that we are not only growing
in numbers but also in commitment
to ministry. People are stepping up in
ministries that are out of their comfort
zone. I do believe that God is working.
He will continue to bless if we are
obedient to his commands. I hope that
each one of us will continue to grow
this year in our love for God, our
spiritual life, family life, commitments
and our dedication for each other and
our commitment to REACH the lost.
But the second part of the theme says
once we have reached the lost, then
we must TEACH everyone that is
committed to Christ. Therefore, we
need to be committed to study His
word. The third step in the process is
to take what we have learned and apply
it to ministering to all we meet. All of
this is a TALL order and the only way
that we can accomplish it is to depend
on the Lord, pray continually, be
willing and stay focused.
I hope that the library can help each
of you with the process. The library
here has many great resources now.
In addition, we will continue to add
to those resources. The Team really
wants to support your spiritual growth
and commitment to ministry. Please
make the library one of your first stops
when you begin something new!

Signs of Life
Back to the Basics of Authentic Christianity
by David Jeremiah
Discover personal transformation that
changes the world.
Just as there are physical signs that
determine the overall health and wellness
of a patient, so too there are signs of
life determining the extent to which a
man or woman has been transformed
into the image of Jesus. It’s a smile, a
simple lifestyle, compassion in the face of
misfortune, willingness to commit random
acts of kindness, benevolence, social
justice, tears, words.
