DESCRIPTION
Waterlily™ is a dynamic and exclusive
non-invasive system, which, by means of
a negative pressure on the wound, allows to:

The Waterlily™ therapy applies a negative pressure (sub-atmospheric) on the lesion by means of:
- the use of a Jackson-Pratt® drainage tube, or
- with a suction head.
The negative pressure can be continuous or intermittent according to the type of wound to be treated
and to the clinical goals.
INDICATIONS
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Chronic ulcers at the lower limbs
- Malignant lesions
- Ulcers of the diabetic foot
- Untreated osteomyelitis
- Unexplored fistulas
- Pressure ulcers
- Presence of necrotic tissue with eschar
- Engraftment of skin grafting
- Blood vessels and exposed organs
- Surgical dehiscence
- Traumatic injuries

The Wound Bed Preparation is the global and coordinated management
of the skin lesion, to accelerate the endogenous healing process, but also to
promote the effectiveness of other therapeutic measures (V. Falanga)
It’s characterised in four phases:
1Debridement
Removal of necrotic, damaged or infected tissue, which could compromise
the healing of the lesion.
2Control of the bacterial load
3 Exudate management
In the presence of chronic wounds, the composition and/or high presence
of exudate, could slow down or block the proliferation of growth factors.
4 Correction of the biological microenvironment
Finalized to promote healing of the epidermis
The correct application of the
Wound Bed Preparation leads to:
- an adeguate preparation of the wound bed,
- the removal of the barriers that hinder the healing process.
