A Letter from the President
The Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior was a great success again this year.
Thanks to all the staff and Club members who made the young golfers and their families
feel at home. I heard nothing but positive feedback from the competitors, families and
AJGA staff about the Club and our members.
Some of you may not know that I grew up in northern Ohio, and Mary and I moved to
this area in 1989 from Cleveland. I have been one of the long suffering Cleveland sport
fans. So, I am taking this opportunity to say I couldn’t be happier with the Cavs’ victory and bringing an NBA
Championship to northeast Ohio. The 52-year curse is broken. Go Cavs!
Now that basketball season officially is complete, it’s a great time to come out to the Club. Whether you enjoy
playing golf or tennis; taking a swim; or just relaxing and enjoying a great meal in the dining room, Pub or on
the Pub deck, it’s all available at your Club.
David Legenza, President
From the
Manager’s Desk
As I write this, it’s the first day of summer and we are very busy at the Club. We just
wrapped up an immensely successful AJGA week and we are going straight into our
annual Kid’s Golf & Tennis Camp.
The AJGA had a full field of 100 players for the qualifier on Monday, June 13, and
144 boys and girls in the main event. Except for the rain on
Wednesday afternoon, the tournament ran very smoothly.
Thanks to all of you who volunteered and to our BCC staff
who worked throughout the event.
The Golf and Tennis Camp ran for a week with about 40 youngsters enjoying the
golf course, tennis courts and pool. This is a large increase from last year’s camp and
thanks go out to Jeff and Cameron who started the day with golf instruction; Terri
and Emily for supervising lunch and swimming; and Kimberly Bush for coaching
tennis. We appreciate their work in making this a fun, productive week for all
the kids. The Pool Committee wants to gauge if you have any interest in Scuba
Training classes. A local company will come to the BCC pool and offer the first
phase of scuba diving training. Approximately six hours of training is involved
in this course that will meet Wednesday evenings for two hours. No purchases
are required – all the equipment, manuals, etc. are provided. This course will
complete the confined water portion of the Open Water Diver Certification. At
least seven students are required to participate in the course and the cost is $275
per person. If you are interested or want additional information, call the Club
office at (606) 324-2107.
All the projects that were started a couple of months ago have been completed.
The new awnings were the last piece of the puzzle and were installed right before
the start of the AJGA tournament. I think the Club looks very nice and more
polished after all the repairs and updates we were able to accomplish this spring.
Thank you for your patience while all the work was going on; I believe it was well Kids’ Camp was a “hit.”
worth any inconvenience.
It’s your support of the Club that allows us to do these wanted and very necessary improvements. All areas of
the Club received capital monies this budget year for any projects that need to be realized. I feel this is a sign of
a very healthy Club. Keep up the good work and come enjoy everything BCC has to offer you!
See you soon & often,
Stan Timberlake, General Manager

In the Bunker
Summer has arrived in full force and the golf course maintenance staff is as busy as we’ve ever been. With the AJGA
Bluegrass Junior in the books, we are preparing for the
Kentucky State Amateur and the Sweepstakes tournament here
at the Club. The staff puts in a lot of time and effort preparing
for these tournaments, and I always appreciate the kind words
about the golf course because it is a direct reflection of their
hard work.
A little follow up on some of the projects on the golf course. As of this
writing, #8 men’s tee box should be ready for play within the next week. The back of #11
tee box has been sodded and the areas surrounding the sod will be seeded. Sod work has
also been done on all of the old irrigation repair areas, as well as in the fairway on holes
4 and 5. A few areas of concern have been bare areas in some of the fairways and lack of
sand in some of the bunkers. We will be addressing both of those issues this month with
more sod being laid and additional sand added to our worst bunkers. Hope everyone will
have an opportunity to come out and enjoy the golf course!

This being my first season as Pool Manager at BCC,
I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome I’ve
received.
Summer is the time to kick back and relax poolside and
our staff is looking forward to helping you enjoy your pool
experience to the fullest. Safety of our members and guests is our number one priority,
and everyone is encouraged to follow the established rules of the pool to ensure a great
time is had by all. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know and I’ll be
happy to find an answer or solution.
Swim classes were very well attended and finished up at the end of June. If you are
interested in the Club offering another session of swim instruction, please sign up at the
pool or call the office at (606) 324-2107.
Be sure to make your reservations for the annual Independence Day Celebration at
the pool on Monday, July 4th. This year’s party is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
for those with reservations. The pool will then reopen for members’ use 3:00-9:00 p.m.
Hope everyone has a great summer & see you poolside!
