Presentation regarding a post-event report on the Wiener Dog Races held
April 27-28, 2013 in Buda City Park.
1. BACKGROUND/HISTORY
According to the FY 12/13 HOT Request for Funding from Organizations, it is required from all
organizations that have received funding to do a post-event report after their event/expenditure and must
be submitted to the City of Buda Tourism Department. In addition, the organization will need to also give
their brief report on the success of their event to the Buda City Council. The Buda Country Fair &
Wiener Dog Races begins with a pet parade, followed by the nationally known "Wiener Dog Races".
There is food, arts & crafts vendors, and live entertainment throughout the weekend.
2. FINDINGS/CURRENT ACTIVITY
The Buda Lions Club completed their post-event report which was turned into the Tourism Department
June 25,2013, and includes findings such as how well the organization met its event goals, samples of
advertising/promotional collateral, and the number room nights generated in Buda hotels, motels, or bed
and breakfasts by attendees of this event.

The total room nights generated by the Annual Country Fair and Wiener Dog Races, based on the
report above, was 92 room nights.
3. FINANCIAL IMPACT
During the budgeting process for FY 12/13, the Buda City Council awarded the Wiener Dog
Races with $15,000 in HOT funds for advertising. The total amount spent was $18,669.00.
