Fourth Sunday of Easter
Liturgies and Paraliturgies
Including Mass Intentions
Pastor’s Corner
My Dear Friends,
This weekend, Catholic Christians celebrate
the 4th Sunday of Easter.
On this day, Jesus reminds us that, “The sheep hear my voices; I know
them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has
given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of
the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one” (John 10: 27-30).
Jesus’ message is indeed good news for us, the sheep of his flock.
Because God has chosen us to be part of this special flock, we should
always remember to give thanks for this gift and to live up to this
special honor.
On this Sunday, Catholic Christians celebrate the World Day of Prayer
for Vocations.

The purpose of the World Day of Prayer for Vocations is to publically
fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send
laborers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:38; Luke 10:2). Although the
Church recognizes that all vocations are noble, this day is devoted to
praying for an increase of vocations to the ordained priesthood as well
as to the diaconate and the consecrated life.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
- Father Bob

World Day of Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, we thank you for calling
men and women to serve in your Son’s
Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious,
and consecrated persons. Send your Holy
Spirit to help us respond generously and
courageously to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth. We ask this
through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives
and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

Sister Isaac—Office of Social Ministry
Fourth Sunday of Eater
St. Mary Social Ministry/Tileston Outreach
Sometimes today is referred to as Good Shepherd Sunday. This is
because the Gospel of John that we are reading these days recalls Jesus’
words at the Last Supper when He speaks about His people who are
special to Him. He calls them, and us, His “sheep” who will be with
Him eternally.
In the Missalette I use, called Living with Christ, Fr.Raniero
Cantalamessa offers an interesting reflection….
“What shall we do ‘in heaven’ with Christ for eternity?
Aren’t we going to be bored?”
To such a question, I would like to reply with some
questions of my own. Is it boring to be happy and enjoy
good health? Ask lovers if it is boring to be together.
When we experience a moment of pure and extremely
intense joy, don’t we want it to last forever?
Here below, such moments never last long because there is
nothing that can permanently satisfy us. With God, it is
different. Totally different! Our minds will contemplate
Truth and Beauty, while our hearts will never grow tired
of delighting in Goodness…”
Jesus invites us to follow Him, to listen to His message. How are we
doing?
Special Need for the Week:
Next weekend is our Yard Sale. Come and find a treasure for yourself. Thanks you for bringing food items to the Outreach – it really
helps us live out that corporal work of Mercy…Feed the Hungry.
RCIA
Full membership in the Church always calls us to
go deeper and deeper into our beliefs and strengthen
our faith life. This weekend we gathered to do just
that. Our final meeting will look at some of the
ways we can become active in Church Ministry –
something Pentecost calls us to.

"Let your light so shine..." Matthew 5:16
Last Friday we had a meaningful Communion
Service lead by Sr. Isaac this morning. The liturgical dancers performed a dance that spoke to the
Easter story with such meaning and grace. Relating to the Last Supper, Sr. Isaac shared about how we can "feed" one
another. She reminded us that feeding others isn't always with food. It
can be through a smile, a kind word, or perhaps simply sharing a ball
on the playground.
Two of our students competed in the State Science Fair. Congratulations to Susie Cantonwine (7th) who won 2nd place in the state in her
category from U.S. Naval Research! Kasey Kiser (8th) won 1st place
in the state from American Water Works! Congratulations to Kasey!
National Geographic Bee State Level - Joshua Quetel (5th) represented
our school in Charlotte. Joshua made it through the 1st round. Congratulations to Joshua!

St. Mary Athletics
BOYS' TENNIS TEAM: The boys' tennis team plays home matches
at Empie Park. The 6 teammates would love to have classmates and
parents come out and support them while on the court. Please take a
look at the athletic calendar from the main school webpage for the
tennis schedule.
GOLF INTRAMURALS: Weather permitting, we go to "The Muni,"
on Thursday afternoons to play 9 holes of "best ball" golf. Players are
required to have their own clubs and be able to walk the course. Please
contact me with any questions: [email protected]
BOOSTER BOARD AND GENERAL MEETING: I am scheduling
a general Booster Meeting to discuss goals and future plans and needs.
I hope you can attend this meeting and offer to help next year. We
have over 100 members this year, but it is difficult to keep things going when only a very few members offer to help. The meeting will be
held in the evening, and I will let you know when the date has been
set.
FALL SPORTS: Our fall sports teams will be Girls' Tennis and Volleyball. These programs are for girls in grades 6-8. Volleyball will
start in August, and tennis will begin in early September. I will be
checking with the students on the interest level. Our Coed Cross Country team allows student athletes who can run 2 or 3 miles to participate
(any grade level). It, too, will start in early August. More information
will be coming. Please contact me if you have questions.
GYM FLOOR: We are anxious and excited to begin using the new
gym floor! However, it needs a little more time to cure. In addition,
there are a few maintenance issues that need to be completed. Please
be patient and remember.....we need to respect the new floor by keeping it clean and refraining from eating or drinking on it. We want this
floor to last a long time and keep it looking as good as new.
ATHLETIC BOOSTER BANQUET: We are in the planning stages
for the end-of-the-year Athletic Booster Banquet. With so much going
on around the campus, and different school programs on the calendar,
the Boosters are working hard to find the perfect date. You will receive more information as soon as we set a date and time.
Dancing with the Wilmington Stars will be a unique fundraising event
to benefit the St. Mary School!
Join us for an evening of entertainment when our celebrity couples
perform dance routines for your votes! Your cash votes will raise funds
for the St. Mary School!
DWTWS 2016 event will benefit St. Mary Catholic School; to grow
academic programs and maintain our high level of academic excellence. It will enable us to support arts and enrichment programs, fund
our Science Olympiad Team, Robotics, STEM program and purchase
equipment for a newly renovated science lab. In addition, event proceeds will make a difference for qualifying families to afford Catholic
education by landing a hand with tuition expenses.
