Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time ‐ July 17, 2016
WATCH YOUR POSTURE
Our posture is often a tip-off to our
hospitality and reverence for the Lord. Note
the actions of Abraham as he greeted the
Lord in the presence of three men who
appeared near his tent. He ran from the
entrance of the tent to greet them. He bowed
to the ground as he met them. He and Sarah,
his wife, hastened to prepare a meal and
bring food and water to their guests.
In the Gospel story, Jesus’ friend Mary sat at his
feet in order to listen to him speak.
How do we welcome and reverence the Lord?
What do our actions show? Do we remember the
Lord’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament? How do we
welcome the Lord in the scripture readings? How do
we acknowledge his presence in our brothers and
sisters, both at Mass and afterwards?
Whether we kneel, stand, or sit in the Lord’s
presence, may our hearts and minds always be attuned
to him.
FEAST OF THE DIVINE
CHILD JESUS
This image is venerated in
Bogota Colombia and its
devotion spreads throughout the
world. We will celebrate a
special Spanish Mass
Wednesday, July 20, at
6:00pm. We have
also a few raffles to help the
Church.
Tickets can be obtained at the
entrance of the Church. All are
welcome!
CUIDA TU POSTURA
6:00p.m.
También tenemos rifas para
ayudar a la Iglesia.
Los boletos están de venta en la
entrada de la Iglesia. Todos son
bienvenidos.

SAFEGUARD THE
CHILDREN
Children and internet: tips for the
summer
Summer vacation is here and time away
from school could mean extra time online for
children - a lot of it happening when you’re not there to
supervise. Here are some tips to help keep children safe.
1. Talk to children about internet predators and whether
they have ever been approached online. 2. Keep the
computer in a common area of the home. 3. Establish
rules for when children are allowed to use their cell
phone. For complete VIRTUS® Article email

MERCY
Among the attributes of God, although they are all
equal, mercy shines with even more brilliance than
justice.
