INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
ELECTRIC BREASTPUMPS
1. Plug in the AC power cord into any available standard electrical outlet.

The C.A.R.E. (Custom Audio Recording Experience) feature of your Hygeia pump
allows you to record an audio clip of up to 60 seconds and play it back at the touch of
a button through a built in microphone and speaker. This is the green and black buttons
featured on some Hygeia models.
To record a sound:
1. Turn pump on.
2. Press and hold the “RECORD” button for 3 seconds, then release the button.
3. Speak directly into the pump, about 6” from front of pump. Recording session will
last 60 seconds.

The Hygeia breastpumps are customizable. To mimic your baby’s letdown
series of quick suckles, set both knobs to 12 o’clock. Then as your milk
begins to flow, adjust the knobs to your comfort level.

o Do not place in or drop product into water or other liquids.
o Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or a sink.
o Do not reach for this product if it has fallen into water or other liquid.

CARE OF YOUR HYGEIA BREASTPUMP

1. Clean the pump with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser applied with a soft cloth.
2. Never submerge the pump.
3. Do not allow the pump to get wet or come in contact with water or other liquids.
PLEASE NOTE: NOT ALL MODELS OF HYGEIA BREAST PUMPS INCLUDE AN INTERNAL
BATTERY FEATURE AND THEREFORE THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOUR
BREAST PUMP.
The EnJoye Internal Battery provides up to 4 hours of continuous pumping.
The EnJoye switches to battery power automatically whenever the external power supply
is not directly connected to the pump.
Charging:
o The EnJoye Internal battery recharges whenever external power is connected
to the pump.
o Charging occurs if the pump is “ON” or “OFF”.
o A green light located on the side of the pump indicates that the battery is
charging.
o A completely empty battery takes 8 hours to fully re-charge.
o Charging and re-charging may begin and end at any time.

1. Do not wash the dual-port filter. Replace immediately if lter gets wet or dirty.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Follow these cleaning instructions unless you are told otherwise by your healthcare
provider. Prior to cleaning, disassemble the single or double personal accessory set.
PRIOR TO FIRST USE:
o Remove tubing and dual-port filters from kit and set aside in a clean dry area.
DO NOT WASH OR WET THE TUBING AND THE DUAL PORT FILTERS
AFTER EACH USE:
o Disassemble all parts that come in contact with the breast and/or milk and wash in warm
soapy water. Then rinse in clear cold water.
o Place the pieces neatly on a clean paper towel or in a clean drying rack and allow them to
air dry.
o Avoid touching any inside parts that will come in contact with your milk prior to the next
pumping.
10. When pumping session is finished, turn the pump o .
Make sure there is no suction on the nipple(s) before
removing the breast-flange from the breast. If necessary, unplug the
breast pump and break the suction by inserting nger between
ange and the breast.

o Wash all other components with warm soapy water. Do not freeze, microwave, or boil.
o Place the pieces neatly on a clean paper towel or in a clean drying rack and allow them to
air dry.
o Avoid touching any inside parts that will come in contact with your milk prior to the next
pumping.
To playback a sound sample:
1. Turn pump on.
2. Press and release the “PLAY” button. The recorded sound will play back.
3. Press and release the “PLAY” button to hear the recorded sound from the begining.
To delete a recorded sound:
1. Press and hold the “RECORD” button for 5 seconds, will delete the recorded sound.

place opposite ends of
tubing onto the dual-port
filter and ensure cap is
securely placed onto
unused port.

If there is no suction or very low suction:
1. Make sure the device is plugged into a working electrical outlet source.
2. Make sure all the kit connections are secure to the breast pump.
3. If single pumping, make sure the unused dual-port is sealed.
4. Make sure that the tubing is fitted securely into the breast-flange.
5. Check to ensure that all Duckbill valves are inserted correctly on the underside of the breastflange.
If milk appears in tubing:
1. Immediately turn o the pump and unplug from power source.
2. Remove and take apart the tubing and dual-port filters. If the lter got wet it must be
replaced immediately.
3. Wash the tubing with warm soapy water and rinse with clear cold water to clean any
milk residue

4. Shake water droplets out of tubing and hang to air dry.
For faster drying, pour a small amount of isopropyl alcohol through the tubing to dry.
Tubing should be completely dry before re-attaching to the filter.

#4 - Place WARM packs on the breasts, for a few minutes before
pumping. This can help with relaxation and milk flow.

#5 - MASSAGING the breast and gentle compressions before and
during pumping can greatly assist with milk ejection and breast
drainage.
#6 - Set the SUCTION STRENGTH control to “minimum”, and
then gradually increase the strength level to your comfort level.

the first 1-3 minutes of pumping to help encourage milk ejection.

#9 - REMEMBER that every mother and baby is unique! Try out these
different tips to see what combination works best for your situation.
