Gospel Fest 2010: Changing the World, One Life at a Time
Salt of the World Ministries, Inc. is hosting Gospel Fest 2010 at New
Life Church located at 1101 Cedar Crest Drive. We recognize the
seriousness of the drug problems that have attacked and taken control of
our neighborhoods. Salt of the World Ministries, Inc. has established a
faith based recovery program for men in Huntington, WV.
We are bringing a diverse group of talents and ministries together to
raise funds for the Shepherd’s House, a recovery house for men.
Everyone in our community has been directly or indirectly affected by
drug and/or alcohol abuse.
Gospel Fest 2009 brings individuals from diverse backgrounds together
for a common purpose, the fight against drug and alcohol abuse.
The Shepherd’s House
Thank you for supporting the Shepherd’s House, our faith based
recovery program. On December 11, 2010 we opened the Shepherd’s
House, a 6-month to 12-month recovery program for men who have
volunteered to participate in all aspects of our program. Our program
will work for those individuals who are open minded and willing to
commit to the program and apply the principals of recovery to everyday
life.
It is our goal to impact the city of Huntington, WV and the Tri-State
Region by changing your life so that you become successful in your
recovery and use your talents and abilities to give back to the
community. We believe that God can use your hurts, habits, and hang
ups to help someone else and strengthens your recovery.

Celebrate Recovery
We would like to personally invite you to join our Celebrate Recovery group
on Monday’s at 7:00 p.m. in the ‘Blue Room’ at New Life Church. The purpose
of this group is to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God’s healing power in
our lives as we work our way along the road to recovery. We are changed as
we share our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition,
we become willing to accept God’s grace and forgiveness in solving our life’s
problems.
By working through the principles we grow spiritually, and we are freed from
our hurts, hang-ups and habits, this freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and
most importantly, a stronger, personal relationship with others and our
personal loving and forging Jesus Christ.
Our group is based on God’s Word, the Bible. Celebrate Recovery is forward
looking rather than wallowing in the past or dredging up and rehearsing
painful memories over and over. We focus on the future-regardless of what
has already happened, we know the solution is to start making wise choices
now and to depend on Christ’s power to help make those changes. Celebrate
Recovery addressed all types of habits, hurts, and hang-ups. We are excited
about lives being changed and people being set free from all kinds of hurts and
hang-ups and habits as they allow Jesus to be Lord in every area in their lives.

Kenton Rogers Ambassador ~ Evangelist ~ Recording Artist Kenton Rogers, The Prince of God’s Unconditional Love, is most certainly a priceless jewel to the body of Christ. This Paterson, New Jersey native, who presently resides in New York, NY and Huntington, WV, is one of today’s most prolific and charismatic amongst preachers, teachers and singers. At the age of seventeen, while a member of the St. Matthew B.C. in Jersey City, NJ under the leadership of The Late Reverend Luther G. Johnson, he preached his initial sermon. After a unanimous vote by over 600 attendees, he received his license to the Gospel Preaching Ministry and a few years later, was ordained. With a redefined assignment from God, this Ambassador for Christ made the transition from the pastorate of a local congregation, and has returned full‐time to the field of evangelism as an itinerant preacher/teacher, inclusive of his music ministry, conducting revivals, crusades, conferences, workshops and concerts under Kenton Rogers Ministries, of which he is president and founder. This anointed man of God is certainly not a novice, with his almost 25 years of experience. He has respectfully served the body of Christ during various seasons of his life in the capacity of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher, and has planted several churches. With an earned Bachelor of Biblical Studies from North Carolina College of Theology, he is now simultaneously working on his Masters Degree in Biblical Studies, as well as his Certifications as a Nutrition Consultant and Group Fitness Instructor. It is evident that Kenton’s ministry is a holistic one in its approach, equipping adult and young, men and women to prosper and be in good health spirit, mind and body. 1
In addition to the aforementioned, while Kenton is gearing up and preparing for the kick‐off of The Best Of Kenton Rogers Singing The Gospel “Blackberry Days Tour”; The January/February 2011 release of new single titled “I Need You”, produced and written by, his godson Anthony Ponder, as well as featuring his godson’s group, Ministry’s Desire; and his Spring 2011 “LIVE” Recording in Atlanta project already titled “The Comeback…For Such A Time As This, “, he is presently taking the time to work on a very dear and sentimental project titled “Passionately…In Loving Memory Of…”, featuring Kenton covering, with his unique signature style, songs such as Revelation by Third Day, East To West by Casting Crowns, You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) by Chris Tomlin, Lord Have Mercy by Michael W. Smith, and the classics My Soul Has been Anchored In The Lord by Douglas Miller and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel, just to name a few. This historic compilation is destined to be a keepsake as some of Kenton’s family members, personal friends and supporters have joined him in support of this project In Loving Memory Of his mother, The Late Albertha Rogers, by contributing In Loving Memory Of their loved ones who have also made the transition from labor to rest. For now six consecutive years he has performed “LIVE” on the Jerry Lewis M.D.A. Labor Day Telethon, leaving New York hosts Tony Orlando and Russ Salsburg, as well as studio and television viewers, inspired and in awe, with an already extended invitation to perform again for the Labor Day Telethon 2011. Kenton’s most recent single, “Confession of a Preacha Man”, released independently, is thought provoking, brilliantly profound, and continues to spark conversations amongst the churched and the un‐churched. “Confession of a Preacha Man”, is also the title the fictional trilogy authored by Kenton, which you should be certainly expecting to be picked up by a publishing company and the topic of discussion on many television and radio talk shows, in the near future. Kenton Rogers first made his debut on the nationwide scene in 1992 on Melvin Williams’ project, “Live! In Living Color”, where they performed the duet “Time Is Running Out”. After which, he then signed with Blackberry Records and in 1993 released his freshman solo project, “Just Look At Me”, which yielded the classic and still popular “God Has Never Failed Me”. In 1996 he released his sophomore solo project, “Alive & Pressin’ On”, featuring gospel superstars Albertina Walker, The Williams Brothers, Paul Porter and The Late Willie Neal Johnson, of which blessed him with standout selections, “Jesus Will Fix It”, “Hold To God’s Unchanging Hand”, “Help Me Lord”, “I Wanna Go”, “Faithful” and “Gotta Keep Pressin.” Once in a while someone comes along that stands out from all the rest, who has already given of himself in many areas and who has lent his talents to help others along the way. Kenton is one of those rare occurrences. With his persona, which is effervescent, captivating and flexible, in and out of the pulpit, on and off the stage, he is bridging the gap and crossing barriers, as he is generating dialogue between people of diverse ethnic, cultural, social and economic backgrounds ‐‐‐ he is sure to be around and going strong for quite a while. 2
