Between January 3rd 2009 and 14th May 2010 I created and uploaded 200 video tutorials to
the Avid Community.
The first tutorials were aimed directly at migrants from Avid/Pinnacle Liquid.
Then gradually I began jumping in all directions with no set pattern visible.
That resulted in an amazing mixture of tutorials between which navigation was nigh on impossible.
Now I have tried to organise the tutorials and create an index to make things easier to find.
I have made 5 Tutorial packs, and now offer them to you for purchase and download.
The breakdown of the packs is as follows:

Although these tutorials are not new, they still contain a lot of the basic information that can
help newcomers to Avid Media Composer and its 3rd party applications get up and running.
As they have been produced over a period of 15 months, there are considerable variations
in quality and presentation techniques.
The biggest variation is in the sound quality (or lack of it?).

The download times for each pack will depend on your connection speed at the time of
download.
Once you have downloaded the packs that you want the next step will be to unzip them.
Unzip the files into an appropriate folder.
Once unzipped you should find a large number of FLV files.
Those are the actual Tutorial files.
There will also be another 7 files.
They are the ones that set-up and operate the player for the Tutorial pack.
At this point many people seem to make the mistake of beginning to click on the individual
FLV files.
Doing this defeats the object of Tutorial Pack which can play everything with its own player.
To start the Pack correctly you
should locate the HTML file and
double click on it.
If all is well your browser will open
locally on your computer (no internet connection is necessary) and
the player will appear.
It will look something like this.
Some users have experienced a
problem here.
When opening the browser an
error message appears informing
the user that there is a problem with
Java Script and Adobe Flash Player
need to be updated.
Even if the user has the latest Flash
Player.
Do not do the update.
The problem arises when the user
“Double-clicks” on the zip file to
open it and the contents inside their
Zip application. Then they try and
start the HTML file from withing the Zip application.
Do not do that!
Right click on the zip file instead and choose to unzip to a specified folder.
If this still results in an error message, make a new folder and copy all of the files from your
unzip folder to the new one.
Once you have the Player open you will be able to quickly access any of the Tutorials in the
pack.
You will also be able to scrub the timeline in real time, to find a specific place.
If your player opens, and it is too big for your computer screen, try the following.
Hold down CTRL and then click on "-" a few times.
In the same way, if you want the player to be larger: Hold down CTRL and click on "+" a few
times.
