YOTEL New York
About YOTEL
YOTEL was created by YO! Founder Simon Woodroffe and YOTEL CEO Gerard Greene.
Inspired by first-class travel, they have translated the language of luxury airline travel and
Japanese influence into a small but luxurious cabin.
Gerard and his team built a prototype cabin with airline cabin designers Priestmangoode which,
following funding and securing a partner – IFA Hotels and Resorts based in Dubai, they
exhibited at 100% Design exhibition in London. The design was so well received that the
“world’s most radical hotel” company was launched.
In 2007 following a deal with British Airports Authority, YOTEL’s first “airport” project opened
at London Gatwick airport followed later that year by London Heathrow and in September 2008,
Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.
YOTEL’s first “city” location opened just two blocks from Times Square on 10th Avenue and
West 42nd Street in New York in June of 2011 with 669 of the next generation YOTEL cabins.
The flagship Gold Leed Status property features 20,000 sq ft of dynamic and flexible zones of
entertainment space including the largest hotel terrace on Manhattan (pictured above).

On the Product
We have created a first-class hotel experience at an affordable price. We try to keep things
simple, automated airline style check in and out, Mission Control for a one stop shop for all your
needs 24/7.
Our “Airport” product offers the only hotel experience to let you book your check in and check
out time, 4 hours to 24 or more. Perfect for those with an early flight, in transit or distressed
delayed or simply to enjoy a refreshing shower. YOTEL’s are located inside the terminal building
using previously redundant space; i.e., passengers leaving on early morning flights can stay the
night before to catch some valuable extra hours of sleep, safe in the knowledge that they are just
a casual stroll away from their departure point.
Traditional hotels offer expensive and very often
poor quality room service and mini bars, instead
we have built a “Galley” on every floor with
complimentary hot drinks 24/7 and a “Food to Go”
menu if you need take out. Free super strength
Wifi is available throughout the hotel.
“Premium” cabins come with convertible beds for
saving space, with natural organic mattresses,
monsoon showers, technowall with TV and MP3/
iPOD connectivity, workstation and free super
strength WiFi.
For the “extra” factor YOTEL style in our
“City” product we also have “First”
cabins, some with private outdoor
terraces and hot tubs and 1,100 sq ft VIP
2 cabin suites with 360-degree views,
rotating king size beds and dining tables
that convert to billiard tables!
YOTEL New York is also home to
YOBOT, the world’s first robotic luggage
concierge, and “FOUR” including,
“Dojo” restaurant, Club Lounge

surrounded by private bookable cabins and DJ at the weekends, the Terrace and Studio for
meeting, cinema screening and parties.
The Brand
We offer an extraordinary futuristic experience through our cabins which are uncompromisingly
designed around guests to give a bigger experience in a smaller space. The smart, intelligent use
of space means our central, convenient locations are outstanding value.
Our personality which is expressed in everything we do, from our people to our culture is about
being Smart, Passionate, Playful and Uncompromising with an Entrepreneurial spirit that is the
essence of YOTEL.
We are creative with a sense of humour, warm, friendly and fanatical about the experience we
offer; we are a “challenger” brand to all those boring and expensive hotels out there. We offer an
alternative option for the 21st century traveller from the traditional, uninspiring hotel experience.

Growth plans
The YOTEL mission for development is to secure, lease or management contract deals and its
preferences are new build properties but will also consider conversion.
We have designed a portfolio of different cabin types that can be used in any combination to suit
a floor plan – with or without windows!
The innovative design of our cabins means typically 50% more rooms in a development than
other hotels, leading to greater cash flow. YOTEL can occupy redundant office space in airports,
basements or roof space too.
Having established a presence in the UK and Europe primarily with airport properties, YOTEL
then successfully opened and operated its first “flagship” city centre property in midtown
Manhattan in June of 2011; the brand is looking to expand. YOTEL is looking to transfer the
successful model across the globe, just announced is a 600-cabin YOTEL in the heart of
Singapore on Orchard Road, which is likely to be shortly followed by other city centre and
airport sites in the UK, U.S. and Asia.
