Ejaculation.

Preparatory stage
1- Smelling and liking
2- Flehmen posture
3- Chining or chin rest

Mare refuse stallion
II-Actual mounting
1- Erection
Mechanism of erection
Sensory (vision, auditory, olfactory, tactile)
Cerebral cortex
Erection center in sacral region
Ventral branchs of the last 3 sacral nerve
Sympathetic
relaxation of retractor penis muscle
Inhibit vasoconstriction
contraction of
Ischiocavernosus muscle
Decreased venous outflow
Parasympathetic
dilation of vessels
Engorgement of corpus cavernosum
2- Mounting
Abnormal mounting
3- Holding
4- Seeking and intromission
Abnormal seeking
Emission and Ejaculation
Sensory (warmness, moisture, pressure)
Ejaculatory center (lumber region)
Sympathetic
1- Contraction of smooth muscle lining
the cauda epididymis, vas deferens
2- Contraction of prostate, seminal
vesicles.
3- Closure of the sphincter of the bladder

long (over than 30 m)
Buffalo-bull
– Reaction time is longer
– Erection is weaker
– Eagerness is weaker
Ram and buck
Sexual behavior of the ram and buck is quite similar to
that of the bull with some differences:
Higher towards breeding season (6 ejaculates/day/22
months may reach 20 ejaculates in some rams)
The ram tries to raise the fatty tail of the ewe by horn
or by the owner over her back.
Urethral process distributes the semen around the
cervical os (rotates) during ejaculatory thrust.
Boar
Reaction time is very longer
Service of soft guttural gunts
Camel
Restricted to special season (rutting season)
Longer reaction time
Copulation occurs in laying position and male
try to laying the females by press on the back
Copulation takes 7-20 minutes
Grinding off teeth
Evagination of soft palate
Stallion
Desire is much distinct than other animals
Sexual behavior takes 15 minutes
Longer reaction time
Fore play takes longer time
The stallion also may bite the hind quarters and
back of the teaser and may sniff at teaser face
and mouth as if kissing her.
The penis begins to elongate, but at the first it is
pendulous and is gradually raised towards the
abdomen and the glans penis increases in size
(mushroom like formation).
As stallion reach full erection the penis stacks
to the abdomen.
Several mounting and dismounting before
ejaculation. This is due to the musculo–
cavernous nature of his penis.
Anterior, backward movement of penis inside
vagina (friction)
Friction of glans penis at the anterior vagina
before ejaculation
Cervix and uterus are site of semen deposition
First Stage of Coitus
The “Turn”
Second Stage of Coitus
