Here we go again!! Work has begun on the 2016 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Bar-B-Q.
Our event has become such a success that we would rather look to our past donors first. I know that it is difficult, while it still feels
like summer, to start making plans for February, but for us it’s just around the corner. The dates for this year’s cook-off are:

As always, we are looking for your continued support for 2016. As this event has gotten so large and costly, we are trying to get in
some early commitments. Due to ever changing rules with HLS&R, we urge you to get your donation in early to secure your place
in all the fun! We would not want you to miss being included and end up on the outside looking in. We do not like to see anyone
disappointed.
Enclosed you will find an explanation of our Donor Packets and schedule of events for the weekend, a Donor Response Sheet and
our Meeting Schedule. You can also visit our website for additional information and to make your donation. Just go to

We will continue our support for Sunshine Kids and Small Steps Nurturing Center with our live and silent auctions on Thursday,
February 25 as well as entertaining Small Steps on Friday and Sunshine Kids on Saturday. If you wish to donate items for these

Donor Information
As you may know, we are an experienced BBQ team that provides you and your guests with a great 3-day event that is very
entertaining. This is one event you really shouldn’t miss. We have 3 adjoining spaces to accommodate the party needs.
A donation gives you donor and guest wrist bands. In addition, donations of $500 or more will include acknowledgement on a 2 x 2
wooden sign. Your donation is tax deductible as Cold River is a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization. The Houston Live Stock Show
& Rodeo proceeds benefit youth scholarships. Please read thoroughly before making your selection. Typical donations include the
following and please note wristbands are per person, not per couple and a separate ticket is needed for admission onto the cook-off
grounds.
