The House
Brook House is a charming detached house believed to
originate from the earlier part of the 18th Century. It has
been restored and extended by the current owner into
a wonderful family home. The house is approached by a
sweeping gravel driveway and has mellow tone elevations
beneath a stone tiled roof.
On entering the property you are immediately struck with a
wealth of period features including beamed ceilings and
fireplaces, there are limestone and French oak floors
throughout the ground floor. At the heart of the house is
the family kitchen complete with breakfast bar and Aga. The
light and airy Orangery has underfloor heating and leads
out onto a south facing terrace.
On the first floor the large master bedroom has views over
the garden and a generous en suite bathroom. There are
four further bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room
and a further family bathroom.

The house is set in approximately 2.859 acres of gardens
and grounds complete with tennis court, open fronted
double garage and a newly built Orangery which the
current owners use as their dining room.

Situation
Biddestone is a small, rural and rather picturesque village in
north west Wiltshire, England, with a population of a few
hundred. It is situated near Bath just over 11m, Castle
Combe ﴾4 miles﴿, Lacock ﴾5 miles﴿, Corsham, Giddeahall and
Chippenham ﴾4.7 miles﴿. Chippenham with many facilities
and amenities provides high speed rail links to London
Paddington ﴾70 mins﴿. Biddestone has a small Norman church ﴾St. Nicholas's﴿, two
pubs ﴾the Biddestone Arms and the White Horse﴿, and a
duck pond situated in a green at the centre of the village.
There is also a sports ground where football, cricket and
tennis are played. A new village hall was opened on this site
in 2003. The settlement dates from Saxon times, though
most buildings are from the late 18th century. There is
plenty of bed and breakfast accommodation in the village,
providing a resource for tourism. The classical village centre
of Cotswold stone houses surround a large green and duck
pond. Just off the centre is a beautiful 12th Century Norman
Church, and all around the village are local footpaths for
those who like walking. The area provides many
opportunities for walking and cycling being on the
Macmillan way and Wiltshire Cycle Way. For those
interested in golf there are six golf courses nearby.
