Steve Weaver is the Founder and Operating Director of
Dear Fellow Retailers,
Dream Weaver Travel. He has been actively working in the
dive and travel business since the early Eighties. Steve has
organized and escorted groups to dive destinations on six
continents. He has logged over 4000 dives in both fresh and
salt water environments. As a leading expert in the business
of selling dive travel, Steve has been invited to speak at
numerous industry shows and events. He often consults
retailers on developing travel programs in their stores.
Since establishing Weaver’s Dive & Travel Center in 1983, we have been
organizing and escorting group trips to exotic destinations around the globe.
I realized early on that travel was going to be an integral part of my business —
Colorado not being known for great local diving! I focused on growing the
travel side of our business ultimately leading to the launch of our wholesale
division, Dream Weaver Travel. One of my goals with Dream Weaver Travel, was
to help dive retailers nationwide develop and grow successful travel programs in
their stores. Over the past two decades we have earned the trust of dive stores
both locally and around the country, and we continue to work hard maintaining
and growing these relationships.
Jane Steinbrecher learned to dive in 1983 and
quickly realized that she was destined to have a
career that involved diving and travel! She became
a dive instructor and moved to the Cayman Islands
where she worked for over three years. Upon
returning to Boulder she started working for
Weaver’s Dive & Travel Center as the store manager
and a tour leader. Jane decided to focus her talents
on travel full time with a travel wholesaler
specializing in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim. During that time she honed
her skills as a travel professional organizing trips for custom travelers, private
groups and notable non-profit organizations. Jane is currently the manager
of Dream Weaver Travel.
Jennifer Johnson is a native of Colorado, with
a Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation and
Ecotourism from Colorado State University. Jen has
traveled extensively throughout Asia, the Pacific and
Caribbean including, but not limited to, Australia,
New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Indonesia,
Malaysia, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea & Thailand.
Jen has been working as a travel consultant since
2000, arranging trips for custom travelers, private
groups and non-profit organizations. Jen’s enthusiasm and work ethic will
ensure that you and your clients receive the best service the dive and travel
industry can offer.
I consider it an honor to have been invited each year to speak on the subject of
selling travel at the DEMA show. In March of 2005, I was excited to be asked to
participate in the DEMA Leadership Conference which focused on developing
travel business for retail dive stores. This was especially important to me, as it is
all about retailers helping retailers — a concept which I strongly support.

are also a dive retailer. We understand the challenges dive stores face when
selling group travel and most importantly we understand the importance of
maximizing profit. With over two decades of organizing and leading group

My staff and I have personally traveled to and dived most of the world’s top dive

Bambi Wineland did her initial scuba training at
Weaver’s in 1996, completing her open water dives
in the Philippines later that year. For several years
she worked as a trip coordinator and tour leader for
a tour operator specializing in Southeast Asia. In the
late Eighties she spent a year backpacking around
the world which really fostered her love of travel.
She and her husband got married on that trip and
now have a 2 1/2 year old daughter from China and
a one year old son from Guatemala. “Seeing the world has changed my life!
