Summer Program
Ms. Lee Ann, Ms. Angela, Ms. Krista & Ms. Rhonda
It is really incredible how time flew by this year and we have promoted all our awesome students
to live a new and exciting year.
The sun now heats our yard with its bright and warm rays, making the garden grow and the trees
shade us with their beautiful leaves. We have seen the children normalize and grow, taking care
of the environment and becoming more and more self reliant. This has also been a productive
academic year.
Friendships have grown strong and the children are turning into positive social
butterflies.
We finished up the last month of school studying the Renaissance time period and learned about
the English Renaissance and William Shakespeare. Mr. Tom and the Lavender class recited lines
from plays as the audience cheered “Bravo!” In the Cedar room we saw enthusiastic interest for
language boxes, new math jobs and plenty of artwork.
The students worked on challenging work throughout May and embraced freedom and choice
during the last week of school, choosing their favorite jobs throughout the day.
Wear a hat day was fun and we produced a hat fashion show. Backwards day as usual is
surprising and the Lavender room students worked in the Cedar room, and the Cedar room
students worked in the Lavender room. Wacky hair day was fun with its usually funky and colorful
doos. Be a color day was filled with beautiful and colorful projects and almost every color was
represented. Water day closed this last week of school with the delights of water and amazing
splashes! Fun, fun, fun!!!
Summer session will start with exciting jobs and lessons based on our the solar system and
spacecraft. For the outside classroom we will also have access to ships and boats. The older
children having a lot more responsibility with classroom prep care of the environment will
accentuate our summer program. They will also be mentoring for the younger students.
For those who are going on to new horizons we wish them a beautiful future. For those who are
coming back after summer vacation, have a great time with your families.
We are so proud of all our students for working so hard this school year. It has been an incredible
and growing experience for us all, Peace from all of us at Madrone Montessori School.
