early history and, largely,
on a paper written in 1965
by one of the company’s
founding members, D.D.

The groom’s apartment over the Hollister family’s garage on 18th became the first Hollister-Stier pollen production facility. Mrs Hollister had a housekeeper named Mrs Skogland who would help Mr. Hollister with the pollen
production after she finished her housekeeping duties. Mrs. Skogland followed Hollister-Stier from the garage
(which burned down in 1926) into their new location in the Old National Bank Building and she became the
company’s first Production Manager.

During 1926 renovations to the Hollister family garage/pollen production facility, painters dropped a lit cigarette into
some paint thinner, accidentally burning down the garage.

Quality Assessment Update
To keep you updated, you may recall one of the commitments
we made to the FDA was to carry out a detailed review of our
end-to-end operational and quality systems. As of today, we
have completed this assessment with the help of external consultants who were on site for two weeks. The management team
received a walkthrough of the preliminary findings this afternoon. We will prioritize the list of changes needed, and will
finalize an implementation plan that will detail the path forward to making improvements across our operations, quality
and support systems in our facility. This plan will include further evaluations of specific systems required to better prepare
us for future CDER and CBER audits expected later this year.
As a management team, we are committed to making the necessary improvements in our systems. These may include changes
to our technology systems, our processes and our organizational structures. We will communicate the key priorities which
we will implement starting in the new fiscal year, April 1st.
On behalf of the management team at JHS, I want to
thank the many of you who spent considerable time working with the consultants. Your input was very valuable
and helped frame the areas of attention needed in our site.
