working well in Khandas GP

Ambarpada:
This well is away almost 1000 meter from village, but very near to hill side almost at 200 meter.
Villagers started using this well from month of May. Before this month they used another well or
Dohre which are near to Dam. Depth of well is 10 meter and water table height is 4 meter. Well
is in stream line. Vegetation in that region is very dense which may cause recharge of rainwater.

Belachiwadi:
This well is the important source of drinking water. It is near to village, also near to hill. A
streamline is passing from this well. Also it is at the upward direction of dam. Its depth of is 8.1
meter and height of water table is 4.5 meter. People built this well by their own. Daily water
consumption is almost 6000 liter for this village. Total number of houses is 30. Per house per day
consumption is 200 liter.

Kathewadi:
This well is constructed along the stream line. It is at a distance of 500 m from hill. Depth of the
well is 8 meter and water table is at 2 meter. People started using this well from 21st of May.
They have restricted water almost 40 liter per day per family for drinking water.

We can see here, it is very clear all the three well very near to hill.

Khandas:
Basically this well is working due to Dam water. Depth of well is almost 13 meter. Water table
is 5 meter. There is also a well on the other side of dam but depth of well is very less almost 4
meter. Very few water is coming from the fracture of well.

Ghutechiwadi:
Villagers constructed this well themselves as they did not trust on external contractor’s quality of
work. This is a perennial source of domestic water for village. Well depth is 10 meters and water
table is at 2 meters below the ground. Well is located in the vicinity of a first, second and a third
order stream.

Chafewadi:
It is located on the bank of main stream line. It is a third order stream. The well gets recharged
due to this stream. Depth of well is around 9 meter and its diameter is 8 meter.

Gawandwadi:
This area is having good amount of water in whole Khandas gram-Panchayat because of dam.
Dam is having sufficient catchment areas and recharge of well is due to dam. Dam is having
large amount of water in the month of May. Water table in that region is about 1.5- 2 meter. Its
water quality is also very good. Direction of the dam is almost 45 degree from north, and fracture
direction is north- south. So it is possible to loss of water by fracture. Also well is at lower
elevation than dam. Hence water is available on the other side of dam.
